Aim

-To refresh and update your knowledge on food safety through a series of focused activities – To comply with the CIEH recommendation that certificated training is refreshed every 3 years – To maintain your due diligence defence! – To re-energise your interest in your food safety management systems, which must also be pe-riodically reviewed (by law!!)

What This one day course is designed by the RedCat Team (even though they recommend it, the CIEH/HABC don’t have a refresher qualification); – Food safety; latest hazards and trends, new pathogens, etc. – Latest legislation & technology – Food Safety Management/HACCP; the steps, with practical examples, – Monitoring HACCP procedures – Verification, review, documentation

How – A one-day class room session, based on a series of syndicate exercises, activities and case studies (regular customers will know we don’t just lecture you!) – We won’t make you sit the exam again, but we’ll give you one or two “past paper” style

Tutors: Sarah Daniels is a Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner, having spent over 25 years in the profession. She has been trained in HACCP by the Food Standards Agency. The RedCat partnership have been providing food safety training and consultancy in Norfolk, East Anglia and nationally for over 19 years.

This course is aimed at delegates who are in their first management role. Typically it might well be someone who has been promoted from within the team and now have to manage colleagues who had until recently been their peers. Course Content

·         Understand the role of the first aider

·         The importance of preventing cross infection;

·         The need for recording incidents and actions; 

·         Use of available equipment; 

·         Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency; 

·         Administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including seizure)

·         Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation; 

·         Understand the use of an A.E.D

·         Administer first aid to a casualty who is choking; 

·         Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding; 

·         Administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering shock;  

·         Provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries (including small cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns and scalds, small splinters);

Location: Carrowbreck House, 7 Carrowbreck Road, Hellesdon, Norwich, NR6 5FA. This course is for anyone who would like to improve their minute or note-taking skills. The different types of minutes are covered and the approach is a practical one, with participants given help and support to develop their summarising and writing skills. The workshop also aims to extend understanding of the requirements for different kinds of meetings, and to give a necessary appreciation. Duration: One-day course (9:30am – 4:00pm approximately) Equipment: No equipment is necessary for you to bring to the course. Pens and note paper will be available.
