Member Training: Level 2 Award in Fire Safety

Our Level 2 Award in Fire Safety course will be taking place on 8th July at No8 Thorpe Road, Norwich.

Who is this course for?

– Anyone who is involved in the management of fire safety; managers, supervisors, team leaders

– Fire Wardens/Fire Marshals. This course was created particularly with this role in mind.

Topic Areas Covered

The qualification will enable successful candidates to understand and put into practice the following: – Fire; its nature and characteristics

– The “Fire Triangle” and how it helps us understand fire

– The hazards during and after a fire (e.g. smoke and flame spread, people’s reactions to it)

– Basic fire safety risk assessment for a work place

– The basics of wider fire safety management

– Emergency precautions; the characteristics of

* fire detection and alerts

* means of escape

* fire fighting and equipment

* Understanding the role and responsibilities of fire wardens/marshals day-to-day (assisting with fire safety management) and during an emergency
