Member Training: Level 2 Award in CitizenAid (RQF)

Location: Carrowbreck House, 7 Carrowbreck Road, Norwich, NR6 5FA. The QA Level 2 Award in CitizenAid (RQF) qualification has been developed for all members of the public who wish to learn valuable life-saving skills and techniques for use in the event of a shooting, stabbing, bombing or other deliberate incident. The QA Level 2 Award in citizenAID (RQF) is a regulated qualification designed to teach members of the public life-saving skills for use in the event of a deliberate multiple casualty incident. Based on the citizenAID Phone App, this 4 hour qualification will teach Learners how to react safely, pass on effective messages to the emergency services, prioritise the injured and give life-saving first aid in these extreme situations. Duration: 4 hour workshop – 9am start and approximately 1pm finish Equipment: Pens and note paper will be available. Before attending this course you will need to download the citizenAID app to your smartphone for use of the course. This can be downloaded from the Apple Store, Google Play store free of charge. Lunch provided: On half-day courses, light refreshments will be available throughout the duration of this course. Please note that it is a requirement of the awarding body, that we need to see photographic proof of identity of each candidate before they can be entered into any assessments, for example, passport, driving licence, student union card or work pass. Course Content: Use the citizenAID app or pocket guide in an emergency Know what to do if there is an active shooter or knife attacker Know what to do if there is a bomb or suspect bomb Report the incident to the emergency services Triage multiple casualties Provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty Control life-threatening bleeding Handover a casualty to medical professionals Course price: £49 per person.
