A three hour workshop to discuss how to implement succession planning into your business and the benefits of doing so Running a business/organisation or a team requires the help of others. Sooner or later others will take your position, so why not set out plans to identify and develop the individuals you think will be most suited to take yours or other senior positions? After all, the more trained and skilled your workforce or team becomes the greater the productivity and higher likelihood of success. Training and development involve not only building on the technical skills of an individual, but more importantly, it is about transcending them to become good leaders and managers. So it is important to ensure that they develop skills that will allow them to interact effectively with others and develop strategies and action plans that would inspire people to follow. Building a strong second-tier management team will release you from having to be involved in the day-to-day activities and instead spend more time on other matters. In this workshop, we will help to provide you with: – A framework for a succession plan – The “softer” leadership and management skills required for good leaders and managers – The characteristics of the best candidates – A development plan for each individual – How to get individuals to take ownership of their development – A process to create a culture for development – How to Identify your future role   Topics covered will include: – Importance of succession planning – What skill sets to focus on – Development of a succession plan – Development of the individual’s growth programme – Appraisals and how they should be used – Recruitment of the right people – Rewards systems Join us in this interactive workshop to set out your plans and learn from each other.
