Book NowFirst we had steam power, then mass production, then computers. Now digital technology is transforming how we design, make and use everything. What could it do for your business?
Many companies are already using these advanced manufacturing techniques. They are producing internet-connected, highly personalised, and incredibly intelligent goods. Welcome to The Future of Making Things where “Industry 4.0 combines cyber-physical systems, the Internet of Things and the Internet of Systems.”
This is an exciting time to be working in digital creativity and industrial design. We have a strong tech sector in Norwich (as featured in the #TechNation report 2017) and a thriving advanced manufacturing sector in Norfolk. Now is the perfect time to bring them together to explore opportunities for co-creativity.
That’s why we are delighted to welcome Asif Moghal, Senior Manufacturing Industry Manager at Autodesk, as our special guest speaker on 8 June. Autodesk is the company that makes software for people who make things. “If you’ve ever driven a high-performance car, admired a towering skyscraper, used a smartphone, or watched a great film,” says Asif, “chances are you’ve experienced what millions of Autodesk customers are creating with our software.” Asif is also responsible for driving the company’s Future of British Manufacturing initiative.
Asif will be sharing some of the inspirational stories from the amazing world of Design and Manufacturing with us. In particular, he’ll be showing how digital technology and design is driving industrial innovation: Industry 4.0. Joining him will be Jamie Thums, who is Chief Operating Officer of Lintott Control Systems and chair of the New Anglia Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Group (NAAME).
We are delighted that NAAME is also co-sponsoring this event. We look forward to seeing many of its members joining our regular Hot Source supporters in the audience. This should be an excellent networking opportunity as well as a fascinating evening. The event will be in the NUA lecture theatre – and we are expecting a large turnout – so book your free place now.
Thank you for your support. Follow @HSNorwich on twitter for updates.
Best wishes
