We are proud to welcome international speaker, social entrepreneur and author, Dr. Sam Collins for a talk you will never forget.

About this event On the heels of her second book, Rebellious: Women Who Broke the Rules and Changed Their World, we are proud to welcome international speaker, social entrepreneur and author, Dr. Sam Collins, as she tours the UK, for a talk you will never forget. During this informal charity event, hosted by Hopestead, you will hear stories of ground-breaking women as told by Dr. Collins herself, in the in the intimate venue of The Assembly House, Norwich. Dr. Collins trailblazes for women, but she is determined to work towards equality for everyone, everywhere. Therefore this is an inclusive event open to all, and anyone with a desire to advance change is welcome to attend. Hopestead is a charity committed to ending homelessness in the East of England. This goal isn’t just about providing homes, it’s about tackling the causes of homelessness and building long term, sustainable solutions. Hopestead works in partnership with other organisations that share the same commitment, with an aim to meet their ambitious goal together. While Dr. Collins’ stories of the women of Rebellious vary widely by circumstance; from setting up a school for girls in rural Pakistan, to escaping from a Kuwaiti trafficking scheme, to sailing solo around the globe, to climbing Mount Kilimanjaro kids in tow – all of these change-making women have one thing in common: they rebelled and found the key to not only success, but also healing for themselves and others. Dr. Collins is the founder of Aspire, where for the past 21 years she has worked tirelessly in advancing individual, organisational and social change. Recognised by Her Majesty, The Queen, she was named among the “Top 200 Women to Impact Business & Industry”. She has also served as global ambassador of Women for Woman International, empowering female survivors of war in Afghanistan, the DRC, Iraq, Kosovo, Rwanda and South Sudan. She’s been called everything from “potty” to “eccentric” … to “iconoclastic”; not to mention “difficult”, “irritating” … and “inspirational”. But come along and make up your own mind! In this riveting talk Dr. Collins will share:

  • The critical skill set of rebels: how they develop resilience and change the most traditional organisational, cultural and social structures.
  • How you can take hold of self-doubt and fear to find your voice, find your passion or simply find the freedom to be happy.
  • How to move through the unknown into a life and career you never thought possible.
  • Why self-care is essential to higher awareness, courage and finding your intuition.
  • The power of compassion and how it is key not only to personally thriving but also a competitive advantage in a diverse global economy.
  • What you can do now to be part of the change and make your own contribution to gender equality transformation in your world.

This talk is hosted by Hopestead. All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Hopestead.
