UEA’s PGCE is internationally recognised, leading to Qualified Teacher Status and 90 credits at Master’s level.
The employment market for maths and physics teachers is buoyant so the likelihood that you will gain a teaching post after completing the course is very high. The average starting salary for teachers in England is currently £22,400. You may be eligible for a tax-free training bursary or IMA/IOP scholarship of up to £25,000.
UEA’s PGCE programme runs for 38 weeks, from September to June. You will complete extensive work placements in two of our partner secondary schools, which are located across Norfolk and Suffolk, spending at least 120 days in schools. Your work in school will be integrated with the university-based element of the course, which is taught by lecturers who have been successful classroom teachers themselves, and by colleagues from partner schools.
Meet us for an informal discussion about training to teach in the Secondary (11-16 years age range) on Tuesday 26 May from 15:00-17:00 in The Hive, UEA Student Union.
To register your interest contact the PGCE Admissions Team on 01603 592855 or email[email protected] or visit thePGCE website.
