North Sea Marine Cluster is a collaborative organisation working together to deliver projects that better utilise the cluster’s shared resources and to promote the marine sector in Norfolk and Suffolk. The Cluster consists of Norfolk Chamber members Norfolk County Council, Gardline Group, University of East Anglia and Marsh UK

In order to promote the strength of the entire marine sector in the region, on 6th Nov NSMC will launch a pamphlet “Realising the Potential- East Anglia’s Marine Economy” at a breakfast hosted by Hethel Engineering Centre.

East Anglia’s Blue Economy- Realising the potential.

NSMC are proud to launch the pamphlet “Realising the potential: East Anglia’s Blue Economy” to show the scale and importance of local offshore activity and the urgent need to steer East Anglia on a path to deliver on this huge potential.

The launch event, sponsored by Hethel Engineering Centre, is a first chance to identify and discuss the challenges and objectives in the blue economy locally.

Delegates will:

– Have the opportunity to hear senior speakers from local business, skills and education, and national government talk about current trends and real solutions.

– Gain new insight on the activities happening now to develop East Anglia’s marine sector.

– Be able to network with marine business figures.

– Have the opportunity to ask questions to key people in the local marine economy.

This event is of interest to enterprises and decision-makers in ports, shipping, marine science, marine planning, business support, maritime services, fisheries, and energy, as well as those interested in local economic development.

The Southern North Sea, off East Anglia’s coast, is one of the most important commercial areas in the world, contributing 35% of the UK’s marine economy and has the most diverse and concentrated activity in English waters. However East Anglia’s marine economy has not yet been able to achieve its full potential.
