Back to the Future: Arts in a Digital Age seeks to examine the impact of the digital age on key aspects of the arts in the past, present, and future. Through four events, we will focus on museum and gallery curatorial practice, archives, the wider heritage industry, and the study of history. All events will take place at Norwich Castle’s Town Close Auditorium as part of the University’s partnership with the Norfolk Museums Service. Events are free and open to the public, and the first event is next week: The Challenges and Opportunities of Archiving in a Digital Age 24 May 2022 | 6:30pm – 8:00pm Every part of the archive’s work is profoundly impacted by the form the record takes. With a sharp transition from paper to the digital, the best practices for digital archiving are explored. John Sheridan, Digital Director, The National Archives, Kew Justine Mann, Archivist for the British Archive for Contemporary Writing, UEA Sean Kelly, Archive Education Technologist, East Anglian Film Archive, UEA ________________________________________
