How to increase international sales through your website
There has never been a better time for East England businesses to grow by trading overseas, and website sales are becoming an ever more important means for business growth, but what do you need to consider when seeking more sales through your website? For example, did you know that 70% of world internet users search in languages other than English? So if you are running an English based website you can take steps to become more visible. Research by PayPal found an estimated 86.4 million of shoppers, from 29 countries surveyed, bought from the UK in the last 12 months. Products from the UK have proved particularly sought-after amongst Chinese shoppers, who made up a quarter of the estimated 86.4 million buyers over the past year.
This event is being led by industry experts SocialB who will help you to identify the strategic and practical issues you need to consider when developing your website strategy.
An experienced International Trade Adviser from the Department for International Trade will provide an overview of the services available, and will provide hands-on hints and tips on exporting, whether you are selling through your website or via more traditional methods.

As well as a variety of stands there will be a short show to showcase student designers, artists and performers. With fresh canapes from their students working around the room how can you resist?

The Government has estimated 100,000 otherwise viable businesses close annually simply because no-one wants to take them on. With 10% of SMEs based in the East, this suggests it is a fate that faces around 10,000 businesses in our region each year.
This session will start by looking at what sets those firms that do successfully navigate a change of ownership apart from those that fail. We will explore why profit and value, while linked, are different and discuss ways of increasing the value of your business.
You should leave the session with a deeper understanding of business valuations, a clearer view of how to create a valuable business, along with some practical first steps.
