Managing Director at JMR Healthcare Ltd
Starting my career in the Health & Social Care industry at the age of 19, I specialised as a challenging behaviour support worker in community and residential settings. I worked in this role until the age of 24.
In April 2020 personal circumstances, including leaving my job due to struggling with night shifts and looking after my young son, I found myself jobless and living in my parents’ spare bedroom. In May 2020, I founded JMR Healthcare, alongside a new full-time position at the Norfolk County Council, with the goal to create a temporary staffing solution for the healthcare industry focused on high pay rates, staff morale & quality of service.
In under two years, I have taken JMR Healthcare from just myself providing support to a company, to now employing over 80 people with two offices, a children’s residential care home, the comprehensive temporary staffing solution I always planned for and an annual company turnover of more than £2.5 million.
As a Co.next Advisory Board Member, I am keen to address and break down the barriers and stigmas relating to age and appearance, which I believe can and do inhibit progression levels and attainment in business and entrepreneurship, something that I myself have directly faced in my journey.’
