Managing your workforce during economic uncertainty Birketts will be joining us for this session offering information and support, in light of the impending economic uncertainty. This session will explore some of the options employers may wish to consider when subject to financial pressure. Our presenters will walk attendees through what a fair process of dismissing someone by reason of redundancy looks like, covering both (1) individual consultation redundancies; and (2) collective consultation redundancies, including a discussion of the circumstances where the latter may be required. They will also touch on how employers can approach conversations around voluntary redundancy. The session will then move on to consider some of the alternatives to redundancies, such as contractual lay-off provisions, short-time/ flexible working arrangements, reductions in hours and remuneration, sabbaticals, and unpaid leave. Our presenters will discuss some practical considerations to bear in mind when implementing these approaches. The session will conclude with an open Q&A discussion. This event will be aimed at HR Professionals, Office Managers, Operation Managers, and People & Wellbeing support About the Presenters Lucy Churchill Lucy qualified as a Solicitor in 2006 and joined Birketts in May 2021.
