Book NowA very inspirational talk from Simon Altham @Hoseasons this morning at the @norfolkchamber breakfast meeting #ChamberNetworking” @fouragency
On a beautiful sunny Norfolk morning, nearly 70 delegates joined the Chamber and guest speaker Simon Altham, Managing Director of Hoseasons to discuss why Norfolk is an incredible place to centre your business. Simon spoke about how from humble origins, Hoseasons have built up a formidable local, national and international reputation, all based very locally, just over the border. He also stressed the importance of East Anglia working together to achieve the goals so important to collective Norfolk businesses.
Even after becoming part of the American brand Wyndham Worldwide, Simon explained that Norfolk was the obvious choice for their newest TV campaign. He listed four main reasons for this choice; the economy; heritage; quality and range of offering and the support of local businesses. He described Norfolk as a year-round destination with an ‘array of great experiences’ and how using Norfolk’s natural beauty and selling points made it the perfect choice for their advert. The ability to use local businesses and contractors also appealed to this local company who have based in the area for over 60 years.
We also heard from our chosen event charity CLIC Sargent. Alison Ramsay, Fundraising Manager, spoke about the work the Charity does for children who have been diagnosed with cancer and the support the Charity provides to their families. She also took the opportunity to challenge delegates to embrace ‘Wig Wednesday’ and raise money for the Charity. More information about this event can be found here.
As well as hearing from Simon and Alison, two other delegates were given the chance to talk about their businesses for a series of sixty second spotlights. Gary Johnson from Aquarius Data Tel and Peter Green from CSS Computers both took the opportunity to tell delegates more about what they do and what they can offer. We welcomed two new members at this morning’s event; Nicholsons Solicitors LLP and Sugarfree Design. As part of our ‘young people’ theme, we were also pleased to see three Apprentices at the event; Adam Javes from Nicholsons Solicitors LLP, Stephanie McKenna from Norfolk County Council and Stephan Schmitt from BDO LLP.
“Enjoying the great company of Norfolk Businesses @norfolkchamber #ChamberNetworking” Duncan Johnson @Yodelay “
The event closed with safari networking time which proved as popular as always, giving local businesses the opportunity to make the right connections and do business. The next Great Yarmouth Business Breakfast will take place on 17th September at Great Yarmouth Racecourse. We also have our new After Hours series starting with Talk, Taste & Tapas on 6th June!
