Saturday 22nd October / 13:30-15:30 / Norwich Arts Centre
2022 is a year of extremes. We’re coming out of a summer of extreme heat and many are facing extreme cold this winter too, as the cost of energy crisis escalates. Both extremes have shone a spotlight on the UK’s housing stock. To help us reach net zero, to adapt to rising temperatures, and to make heating affordable, our houses and buildings need transforming.
With so many households facing devastating fuel poverty this winter, many of us are already looking at ways to save and decarbonise energy in our homes. But it can be complicated and expensive to do alone.
Our Power, a project of the Norwich Climate Commission, will focus on ways that we can achieve more by acting collectively, using our existing community groups – such as choirs, residents’ associations, churches, and sports clubs – as a starting point. How can our existing community groups mobilise to save and decarbonise energy in our homes, premises, and neighbourhoods?
We would love to invite you to find out more at an introductory workshop on Saturday, 22nd October, 1.30-3.30 pm at the Norwich Arts Centre. There will be case studies, practical tips, and a chance to discuss and shape what happens next. We’re not offering all the answers, but we hope to give some helpful advice and to start a conversation about what we can do together.
The event is free and there are no tickets, but please sign up on the EventBrite page below to give us an idea of numbers. We’d encourage you to come with another member of your group if possible, to enable you to cover different breakout spaces. To help us target the session, it would also be helpful if you could fill in this short survey before you come.
