I was struggling to calculate our carbon usage. Somebody mentioned Ecologi Zero, which uses your purchases to calculate these figures, so I thought I’d give it a go.
Ecologi Zero is a new app developed by Ecologi that aims to help businesses reduce their carbon footprint. The app is currently in beta testing, but we were able to sign up for the beta program on the Ecologi website.
Once signed up, we connected our Xero accounting software to the Ecologi Zero app. The app then used data from Xero to calculate Smash Marketing’s carbon footprint. The calculations are based on various factors, including energy usage, transportation, and waste management.
The app provided a detailed breakdown of our carbon footprint, which can be viewed on an easy-to-read dashboard. The dashboard displays the total carbon emissions for Smash and emissions broken down by category. This allows us to identify our emissions hotspots and take action to reduce them.
One of the key benefits of the Ecologi Zero app is that it provides near real-time data on our carbon footprint. This means we can monitor our emissions continuously and adjust as needed.
In addition to tracking carbon emissions, the Ecologi Zero app also gives us a range of tools to help reduce our carbon footprint. For example, the app offers guidance on reducing energy usage, optimising transportation, and improving waste management.
Overall, the Ecologi Zero app offers businesses a comprehensive solution for measuring and reducing their carbon footprint. By integrating with Xero accounting software, the app provides businesses with accurate and up-to-date data on their emissions and tools to help reduce those emissions over time.
