Jimmy joined Price Bailey in 1998 as a trainee and qualified as a Certified Accountant in 2004. He works with a portfolio of owner managed businesses, which ranges from self-employed individuals to Limited companies. He manages our outsourcing service and also oversees Sage, Xero, Quickbooks Online, Auto Enrolment and Payroll services across the Business team and has considerable knowledge of many cloud and desktop accounting solutions. About this Event The Norfolk & Suffolk Cyber Security Cluster (NSCSC) is designed to be an inclusive, educational resource for local businesses and organisations, many of whom may have little or no prior experience of Cyber and Information Security, and, initially at least, limited understanding of the subject; membership to the Norfolk Suffolk Cyber Security Cluster (NSCSC) itself is FREE to any Norfolk & Suffolk SME business.

Launched in 2016 by Mesothelioma UK Ambassador, Brian Wallis, Anglia Asbestos Disease Support Group is for patients in Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex with asbestos related diseases, and for those that care for them. Ashtons Legal is proud to sponsor the Norfolk and Suffolk support meetings.
The sessions are a chance to meet others who understand what you are going through, and to learn more about your condition and the help that is out there. Through these sessions, the group hopes that attendees will feel less isolated by their illness, and by developing friendships with other patients and carers, a sense of community will be created that offers experiential advice and support.
Guest speakers will give advice on treatments, trials, diets, alternative therapies, financial compensation and various other things about the conditions the patient may face on their journey.

In our first Early Bird series of 2015 we will look in detail at the issue of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
We will cover the legal considerations and suggest practical steps to take in order to prevent abuses by staff. We will also look at tactics for dealing with employees who are suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol to the extent that it is impairing their ability to function effectively at work.
What are the implications of drug and alcohol consumption outside of working hours? It is often at the boundary of an employee’s private and working life where the most difficult challenges arise for employers. We will consider the circumstances when an employer will be justified in taking disciplinary action.
The session will cover:
the legal framework, including health and safety duties and data protection obligations
ensuring your contracts and policies provide adequate protection
drug and alcohol testing: in what circumstances can it (and should it) be carried out?
signs for managers to spot when there might be a problem
taking appropriate disciplinary action, and when to consider referral for treatment as an alternative
how to deal with e-cigarettes and ‘legal highs’.
We will also be looking at a ‘real-life’ case study, to examine how an employer dealt with drug and alcohol problems arising among employees in safety-critical roles.
