ACG Member Vicky Brock recognised as Europe’s leading female business angel
Presented during SIM Conference 2026 – one of Portugal’s
flagship startup and investment events – in Porto, the Golden Aurora Award
honours outstanding female business angels who are shaping the future of
innovation, entrepreneurship and impact investing across Europe. In announcing
Vicky as this year’s winner, Business Angels Europe highlighted her exceptional
hands-on contribution to founders and the wider innovation ecosystem, noting
her expertise in critical areas including AI, privacy, cybersecurity and
responsible innovation. The judges also praised her commitment to backing
diverse teams, mentoring founders and helping build a more inclusive investment
landscape.
“You don’t have
to be super rich to be an angel. Even when you’re just investing very small
amounts like I do, you still have every right to be in the room and you have an
invaluable role to play. Best of all, you can directly invest in and support
the founders and business types you personally believe in and make a big
positive impact at the earliest stages of a company’s life.” Vicky
Brock.
For Anglia Capital Group, Vicky’s recognition reinforces the
strength of a membership made up of highly accomplished investors,
entrepreneurs and sector specialists who bring more than capital to the
businesses they support. Vicky, a five-time tech founder and active angel
investor, invests with Anglia Capital Group and serves on its screening panel,
bringing practical operator insight as well as rigorous investment judgement.
“I’ve had the real pleasure of working with Vicky and
seeing first-hand the impact she has as an angel investor. What really stands
out is how much she gives beyond the cheque—she is genuinely invested in the
people behind the businesses, offering thoughtful advice, making valuable
introductions, and being a calm, trusted sounding board when it matters most.
Having been a founder herself, she brings a depth of
practical experience that founders truly value. She understands the realities
of building a business from the inside—both the challenges and the
opportunities—and that insight comes through in the way she supports and
challenges teams to grow. She’s also an active and generous part of the angel
community, always open to sharing her experience and learning from others. You
can see how much she cares about building a stronger, more connected start-up
ecosystem, and she plays a meaningful role in supporting that—both locally and
more widely. I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this recognition.” Laura
Hood, Operations Director, Anglia Capital Group
The award is a strong endorsement of Vicky’s contribution to
the startup and investment community, and of the expertise, judgement and
leadership she brings to the businesses and founders she supports. Recognition
at this level places her among the most influential voices in European angel
investing and underlines the scale of her impact across the sector.
