A new chapter for Solvyn, and a question for Norfolk businesses
A new chapter
for Solvyn, and a question for Norfolk businesses
By MehdiBeigi, Founder of Solvyn
There is
something special about joining a business community that has brought people
together for 130 years.
That’s why
I’m delighted that Solvyn has joined the Norfolk Chamber of Commerce.
For me,
joining the Chamber is about meeting people who care about their businesses,
learning from their experiences and finding ways to help one another succeed.
And there is
one thing I’ve been particularly keen to talk to local business owners about.
When someone
asks ChatGPT to recommend a business like yours, will it find you?
I’ve started
asking business owners to try something simple. Take out your phone, open
ChatGPT or Gemini, and ask it to recommend a business in your sector and area.
Then look at
the results.
You might
find your business there. You might discover competitors you didn’t expect. Or
you might wonder why a business as established and well-regarded as yours isn’t
being mentioned.
That last
question is what led me to develop Solvyn.
I’ve spent
much of my career helping people understand complicated things and turn them
into practical action. I know that running a business already demands enough
time and energy. The last thing a business owner needs is to be bombarded with
unfamiliar terminology.
So I wanted
to make the first step easier.
I’ve created
a free business visibility check with three simple checklists covering 21
practical points.
The questions
cover three areas.
First, your
website.
Can AI tools understand what you do, where you work and what makes
your business worth recommending?
Second, your
reputation across the internet.
Can people and AI find consistent business
information, honest reviews and other evidence that supports what you say about
your business?
Third, your
ability to adapt.
As customer expectations and technology change, can you keep
your information accurate and your business visible?
I designed
the checklists to be clear, memorable and useful, drawing on my experience in
instructional design.
Of course, no
single test can tell you everything about your visibility. AI recommendations
vary, and running a successful business involves more than appearing in search
results.
But
understanding how customers discover you is a good place to start.
Because being
found today matters. Being able to adapt and stay visible tomorrow matters even
more.
I’d love to
make this a conversation with fellow Chamber members, rather than just another
article you read and forget.
If you’re at
the Norfolk Chamber Hub on a Wednesday, come chat with me. Let’s spend 20
minutes talking about your business, how customers find you today and what
might change in the months ahead.
You don’t
need to know anything about AI.
And if you’ve
already asked ChatGPT to recommend your business, tell me what happened.
I’m looking
forward to meeting more of Norfolk’s business community, sharing experiences
and discovering what we can achieve together.

Solvyn
