Water Literacy Programme: Drop of knowledge, wave of change
This summer has shown us just how much pressure our water resources are under. Drought, prolonged dry weather and hosepipe restrictions are a reminder that water security isn’t just a household issue – it affects businesses too.
More than 2,500 people have already taken part in the Water Literacy pilot, delivered by ourselves and Waterwise with Northumbrian Water Group and supported by the Ofwat Innovation Fund. The programme is estimated to have contributed to savings of almost 900,000 litres of water every day.
With the funded pilot now complete, the focus is on bringing Water Literacy into more workplaces. Organisations can commission training for their staff, join open courses or work towards becoming a water literate organisation.
The course is a full day of learning (7 hours in total) and will take place on Tuesday 8th December 2026 @ 9am-5pm (with 1 hours lunch break). You will need to attend the full session receive your accreditation.
