About the Speaker
Simon Badman, Partner & Social Media Trainer at SocialB
It’s great to be part of the SocialB family as a Partner and Trainer. When I came on board in 2012, there were a lot less of us, but its been an amazing journey, training and working with some incredibly well-known brands along the way. My background has been a mixture of marketing, digital, and training, spanning well over 25 years. As well as qualifications in adult teaching and online education I’ve also got qualifications in Google Adwords.
At SocialB, I create and deliver a range of training including open courses, in-house and bespoke training, as well as conference talks and workshops. I have worked closely with several of our long-term training partnerships including the Royal Yachting Association, OBN Life Sciences, and Jarrold Training.
At SocialB, I live for that “Aha” moment, when one of our training clients not only grasps what they’ve discovered on our courses but feels confident to apply and implement it.
Outside of work, I’m involved in several local and community projects, including overseeing a business network. I love playing sport and playing the guitar, usually not together though.

As auto enrolment is fast affecting every UK employer, regardless of size, there is a lot for employers to consider. Setting up a qualifying workplace pension scheme is just the tip of the iceberg.
Our Employer and Payroll Solutions Team have worked closely with a number of key clients who have opted to stage early and in this seminar we will share our experiences and practical tips regarding the impact of auto enrolment on the payroll process.
The administrative planning and ongoing burden for each pay period should not be underestimated and a key area for success with auto enrolment lies within the payroll function of any business. Payroll administration will play an integral part in the ongoing compliance requirements for qualifying workplace pension schemes.
For the first time, this seminar will be jointly presented with Price Bailey Legal Services LLP to bring to the seminar practical tips, from an employment law solicitor, for employers to consider prior to reaching their staging date. These considerations will include contractual enrolment and consultation requirements.

Was it that great before?
Our biggest challenge has not been technology but juggling childcare, new routines, home-schooling, motivation (self and others), changing workloads and priorities.
The Coronavirus kick-started a change – the World’s largest workplace experience in history.
Was it that good before? What are we holding onto? Is there a real opportunity to move forward?
Barriers we pushed through;
Technophobes – simply packed up laptops and went home to work and managed to navigate technology to do so.
Not trusting staff to work from home – managers had to adapt their thinking and approach to managing and motivating remote teams.
Resistance to change – we had to change how we communicate, make decisions, motivate, engage and deliver services.
Engagement and inclusivity – our minds are free to think about the job and keeping our people visible at work and home.
Content / Takeaway

Tips and techniques in motivating remote teams
