Larking Gowen strengthens charity sector expertise with ICAEW Diploma success
Larking Gowen are delighted to celebrate Senior Managers, Hannah Stewart and Emma Hayward, who have both recently achieved the ICAEW Diploma in Charity Accounting.
Their success is a significant achievement for Hannah and Emma and reflects the firm’s continued investment in its people and charity sector knowledge. Hannah and Emma join Giles Kerkham, Julie Grimmer and Chris Yeates, bringing the total number of diploma holders to five .
Head of Not-for-Profit, Giles Kerkham, commented “This level of specialist knowledge is a real strength for a regional firm. It gives our charity clients access to a highly experienced team with the skills to support the varied needs of charities and not-for-profit organisations.”
The ICAEW Diploma in Charity Accounting recognises advanced knowledge across charity accounting and reporting, audit and independent examination, governance and trustee responsibilities, income and funding, financial sustainability, and regulatory compliance.
For charities, this specialist knowledge can make a real difference. The sector continues to operate in a complex and highly regulated environment, making strong financial management, clear reporting and good governance increasingly important.
Larking Gowen’s diploma holders understand the pressures charities face and provide practical, tailored advice to help trustees, finance teams and senior leaders make informed decisions with confidence.
With five diploma holders across the firm, alongside it’s dedicated charity specialists, the team is well equipped to support charity clients with a broad range of requirements. From meeting reporting obligations and preparing for audit to reviewing financial sustainability, strengthening governance and planning for the future, the team provides joined-up support that reflects the specific needs of organisations.
This depth of knowledge, combined with their dedicated charity tax specialists, helps set Larking Gowen apart.
Managing Partner Julie Grimmer said: “My congratulations go to both Hannah and Emma on this significant achievement. I recognise the focus this has required from them over a considerable period to continue to develop their specialist sector expertise and this is a great example to the wider charity team. Their success underlines our commitment to career long training and development, investing in specialist knowledge and providing high-quality support to the organisations we work with.”
