From Westminster to What’s Next: Building Momentum Beyond the RNIB Campaign
Last month, I had the opportunity to stand in Westminster alongside other blind and partially sighted campaigners, supporting a national petition led by the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB).
With over 48,000 signatures, it became the charity’s largest ever — calling for urgent improvements to vision rehabilitation services across England.
For me, this wasn’t just about being present — it was about representing what happens after support is in place.
Vision rehabilitation gave me the foundations to rebuild confidence, independence, and direction. From learning how to navigate safely with a white cane to gradually stepping back into the world, that support was a turning point.
But what interests me now is the bigger picture.
What happens next?
Because the real work doesn’t stop at rehabilitation — it starts there.
Today, I run a personal training, sports massage, running & triathlon coaching business working with clients and athletes in Norwich, across the UK and beyond, helping them build structure, improve performance, and move forward with clarity. My work is grounded in one principle: capability is built, not given.
Being part of the RNIB campaign reinforced something I see every day — when people are given the right support early, the ceiling on what they can achieve changes completely.
But equally, when that support is delayed or inconsistent, it doesn’t just impact individuals — it impacts workplaces, communities, and long-term potential.
That’s why campaigns like this matter.
Not just for awareness, but for outcomes.
Now, the focus shifts forward.
This year is about building on that momentum — expanding my training and coaching work, continuing to create content around performance and sight loss, further develop my public speaking, and working on my book that brings together the systems and mindset behind everything I do.
The goal is simple: help more people move forward, with clarity and confidence.
