CWA hair students meet industry experts at Concept Hair roadshow
Hairdressing students at the College of West Anglia met industry professionals and explored future career opportunities when the Concept Hair Education Roadshow came to CWA.
The roadshow brought together hair professionals and businesses including L’Oréal Professionnel Paris and Zen Luxury Extensions giving the students the chance to see industry expertise in action and a greater understanding of what it takes to build a career in the sector.
Students were able to speak directly with professionals, learn about products and techniques as well as asking questions about their experience in the industry. This enabled learners to forge a valuable link between the course they are studying and the professional environment they are preparing to enter.
Zen Luxury Extensions provided information and expertise into the growing specialist hair extension industry. Samantha Foo from Zen Luxury Extensions said, “It was a pleasure for Zen Hair to meet the students at the College of West Anglia and introduce them to the world of professional hair extensions. Education is such an important part of our industry, and giving students early exposure to specialist skills like extensions helps them understand the different career paths and opportunities available within hairdressing. We loved seeing how engaged and curious everyone was, and hopefully we’ve inspired a few future extension specialists along the way!”
Samantha Cole, Marketing Manager at Concept Hair said, “We absolutely loved bringing our Concept Hair Education Roadshow to the College of West Anglia. These events are all about inspiring learners, connecting them with the wider hair industry and helping them take those important next steps towards their future careers. It was fantastic to see how engaged and enthusiastic the learners were throughout the day.
We were also delighted to encourage learners to enter the Concept Hair Learner of the Year competition, giving them another opportunity to showcase their skills and gain industry recognition. It was a brilliant day, and we loved seeing so much enthusiasm and potential from the next generation of hair professionals.”
The visit also strengthened links between CWA and professional employers, creating opportunities for students to develop their networks with companies and experts who could help inform their future career progression. As well as enabling learners to complement their technical training with real-world knowledge and an understanding of the opportunities and pathways open to them.
