Age UK Norwich celebrates success at 2026 GSK IMPACT Awards
Age UK Norwich has celebrated national recognition
at the 2026 GSK IMPACT Awards on the 13th of May, after being named
as one of ten winners from across the UK.
The awards, run by GSK in partnership with The
King’s Fund, recognise outstanding small and medium-sized charities working to
improve health and wellbeing in communities nationwide.
Following a rigorous assessment process and a
record number of applications, Age UK Norwich was selected as one of this
year’s winners in recognition of its work supporting older people across
Greater Norwich and surrounding areas to stay healthy, independent and
connected.
At the awards ceremony, the overall winner was
announced as The Green House
charity with
Age UK Norwich congratulating the organisation on its achievement.
Dan Skipper, Chief Executive of Age UK Norwich,
said:
“We’re incredibly
proud to stand with the other ten winners of the 2026 GSK IMPACT Awards. Being
recognised alongside other outstanding charities from across the UK is a huge
achievement, highlighting the importance of the people we serve. This recognition
reflects the power and potential of the VCSE sector to transform the health and
wellbeing of our communities – it’s fantastic that The King’s Fund and GSK are
helping to highlight this potential, and the long-standing dedication and hard
work of our staff, volunteers and partners we work with.”
He added:
“We would also like
to congratulate The Green House on being named the overall winner. The awards
showcase the extraordinary work charities are doing every day to support
communities across the UK, and we are honoured to have been recognised
alongside such inspiring organisations.”
Age UK Norwich was recognised particularly for its
health coaching and falls prevention work, which combines personalised support,
wellbeing advice and innovative GaitSmart technology to help older people
maintain confidence, mobility and independence. In 2024/25, the charity
supported almost 8,000 people and delivered thousands of welfare checks,
befriending calls and community activities across Norwich.
