After an extremely successful year with more garden centres stocking PlantGrow products than ever, we’re thrilled to announce that our first national TV campaign goes live!
In partnership with Happy Hour, an award-winning creative agency based in the heart of Bristol, we’ve come up with a creative and thoughtful TV campaign that highlights the importance of organic gardening.
“We’re very excited to bring PlantGrow to TV. It’s a quality, eco-friendly product and we’re proud to work with them on their first response TV campaign.” Says Tom George, Creative Director at Happy Hour. “PlantGrow came to us with a specific brief, to reach organic gardeners and land the important organic and ecological benefits of their product vs chemical and peat-based fertilisers.
“Working with Chase Media, the combined direct response media and creative strategy targets the eco-conscious gardener and provides cut-through in ad breaks, using silence to emphasise the natural characteristics of PlantGrow. Creatively, we felt the quality of the product speaks for itself, so we decided to use that to our advantage to communicate how quietly and naturally PlantGrow works in harmony with your garden.
Since we’re known for winning the Breaking Boundaries awards we wanted to create something unique that showed our innovation and dedication to an organic, plant-based future.
Laura Ruddock, Producer at Happy Hour, says “We had an opportunity to do something different for PlantGrow and we were happy to rise to that challenge. The heroes of the creative are really the sights and sounds of the garden, which speak to the enjoyment we get from our connection to the natural world and underscore the benefits of using PlantGrow to garden sustainably.”
We’re delighted that more and more people are going to see PlantGrow and how it can benefit their gardens, whether they have a small vegetable patch or a whole plot of land.
Norwich Study Centre, Flying Classrooms is a British Council accredited English language school in the heart of the city, opposite the Cathedral. For over 20 years, our experienced teachers have been providing personalised English tuition to students from around the world and every student we welcome becomes part of the school community.
Our international connections bring visitors from all four corners of the globe to Norwich, and we would like to develop our relationship with other local organisations to expand our network and find new ways in which our students can be involved in local life.
We are looking for volunteering opportunities with charities or community projects that we can offer to our students who are interested in contributing to our city whilst also developing their practical language and communication skills. If this is something you would like to collaborate with us on, then we would love to hear from you – please contact us at [email protected] to discuss further.

After the amazing success of the first Canaryball Rally back in 2019 where we travelled through 8 different countries in Europe, raising over £75,000 for The Community Sports Foundation (https://www.communitysportsfoundation.org.uk/), we now reveal our next destination.
This year we are swapping Europe for the UK, and the football stadiums will be replaced with Highland Cows, fabulous views, the Loch Ness Monster, and the dulcet tones of a piper, but by no means will it be less fun!
In April 2022 the Canaryballers will be travelling up to the Highlands of Scotland and taking on the NC500 challenge.
As with the original Rally, the 2022 event will combine the driving with plenty of other fun challenges for participants to win points, including an exciting scavenger hunt and spot prizes that all go towards winning the coveted Canaryball Rally trophy!
Even though we will be having plenty of fun on the rally itself, our goal is to raise vital funds for The Community Sports Foundation (CSF), and we ask that each team agree to raise a minimum of £2,000. CSF will of course be on hand to help with fundraising ideas.
This will be a trip you will never forget, so if you would like further information then please get in touch and we will be happy to send you the details.
We only have room for 25 cars on this trip, and places are being filled quickly, so don’t delay, get in touch today!
In this weeks episode of Impromptu Business Chat, James and Mark chat about how business owners and their teams can use body language to build rapport on video calls. As usual they provide 3 top tips, and along the way make reference to Richard Bandler (the co-founder of Neuro-Linguistic Programming), Tony Robbins and top road cyclist Peter Sagan.

What is customer experience? It’s the emotional connection that the customer has with a business. Better known as customer service, it’s more than just functionality – experience is about how people are made to feel. Judy is here to explain why this is incredibly important for tourism, leisure and hospitality businesses to focus on, moving out of the pandemic, and to secure their future past the initial frenzy of ‘being let out again.’
Judy has worked with food and beverage-based businesses for decades, from accountancy to marketing, from secret shopping to research & development (R&D). She is currently helping advise businesses on their brand reputation, which is the biggest risk to them moving out of lockdown. You don’t normally get a second chance at making a first impression, but for many leisure businesses, this is the opportunity they now have!
Judy walks Chris through exactly what the customer experience really is; how staff need to be encouraged to take ownership of this experience; and how a business’s values and strategy must be key in all decisions.
She highlights the need for a tweak on your USP – unique, small and personal; a focus on the three P’s: people, process and performance; how product knowledge is key; and remembering that your people are your biggest and most important asset! There is a difference between having a task and a role, and investment in your staff might be key for your good reputation!
Judy’s overall insights for, and message to, businesses in the sector is an important one not to be missed and is essential listening for anyone working at any level within the sector.

At St Edmunds Society we know that every person is different. We know that mainstream education isn’t for everyone, and we pride ourselves on doing things a little differently. We support young people who may have felt challenged or out of place in a mainstream environment. At St Eds we offer a range of exciting vocational training courses such as Catering and Hospitality, Hair and Beauty, Carpentry, Tiling, Construction, Painting and Decorating and Mechanics.
As you can imagine work experience is very important to us here at St Eds, as it is another way for our young people to gain direct hands-on experience in the workplace. We are connected to many amazing businesses in the community that have seen lots of benefits from working with us such as:
Recruitment strategy – getting ahead of competition by bringing enthusiastic young people with fresh ideas into the business.
Helping business to develop a loyal and talented workforce.
Shaping the skills of young people from the local community.
Generating good PR for business, and brand loyalty.
Giving established members of staff the chance to develop their skills in mentoring and coaching young people.
If you are able to offer work experience opportunities for any of our students, please contact Megan Howitt, Study Programme Officer.
