How often do you find yourself thinking ‘there are just not enough hours in the day’?
How many of the following apply to you…
I’m always busy but feel like I’m not getting enough done My to-do list just gets longer and longer I seem to get pulled from pillar to post in the office and the phone never stops ringing There are important things I need to address but they always get bumped down the list
Could you use a day away to catch up on those important but ignored tasks? If the answer is ‘yes’, then join like-minded Directors at our inaugural Directors Haven.
Set in the picturesque countryside of Burnham Market, North Norfolk, this 16th Century coaching inn is the ideal location to catch up on those important parts of your business without the interruptions of office or home life. Tackle the tasks that can make a real difference to your business and dedicate time to reflecting on where your business is, where it’s going and how you’re going to get there.
At The Hoste hotel you will find everything you need to enable you to relax, re-energise and return to work with a new lease of life – from fantastic food and drink, luxurious rooms, a sumptuous spa and, most importantly, time and space. There is also a meeting room booked for the duration of the event with free WiFi so you can work wherever you feel most comfortable.
Our haven begins on the evening of the 24th November, with the option of an evening meal in The Hoste’s elegant restaurant with other Directors from across the county and the opportunity to swap stories on how to be effective at the helm of a healthy business.
The next morning there will be a complimentary breakfast and the day to spend as you please. If you choose to work, there are plenty of secluded spots around the hotel providing the privacy to work, like the hotel’s residents’ lounge which has comfortable sofas and spacious tables. Or, you could take a walk (or even hire a bicycle!) through the delightful market town. The in-hotel spa is also a great way to relax and unwind. A complimentary lunch will be served in the afternoon and you will have full use of the private meeting room should you wish to join other Directors and work, away from the distractions that come with the day-to-day running of your business.
You can book your place at Directors Haven here. If you would prefer to pay by invoice, rather than through Eventbrite and paypal, please email your request to [email protected]
Norwich Castle’s autumn exhibition, Build Your Own: Tools for Sharing offers an exciting interactive experience for visitors and a fascinating insight into today’s making revolution. It features neurotic robots that can manage your garden, a global network producing prosthetic hands created by 3D printing, and explores new ways of repairing city spaces, empowering communities and reflecting local craft traditions.
Crafts have underpinned our local communities for centuries but now the traditional tools are changing with the advent of modern technologies. Build Your Own is about celebrating making and the use of both old and new tools.
Co-produced by FACT (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology), in collaboration with the Crafts Council and Norfolk Museums Service, the exhibition features specially commissioned works by leading makers, creative technologists and collectives, all of whom embrace the ethos of co-creation.
A key element of the show is the special ‘maker space’ in the gallery which presents demonstrations and workshops by local artists and staff and students from Norwich University of the Arts, plus there’s a chance to experiment with exhibition sponsor’s HP’s amazing new computer system ‘the sprout’.
Anyone interested in new technology, craft and how people can use both to improve their communities will find the show fascinating.
The Norfolk Skills and Careers Festival is a new interactive event aimed at 14-24 year olds to help inspire them for their future career and to demonstrate the various options available. It will be the only major skills and careers event to take place in Norfolk in 2016.
Groups from schools and colleges will arrive in organised time slots throughout the two-day festival. Individuals are welcome to attend too. The event aims to attract 5000 visitors.
This is a wonderful opportunity for your organisation to connect with Norfolk’s young people, your potential future workforce, both to demonstrate and talk about the key skills involved in your industry and to break down unhelpful myths. It provides a platform to connect with talented youngsters who could become gifted prospective employees.
The Festival will be structured around a number of employment sectors: Energy, Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering, ICT – Digital and Creative, Financial and Insurance Services, Leisure, Tourism and Culture, Food and Farming, Agri-Tech and Life Sciences, Health and Social Care, Logistics, Construction, Higher Education and the Armed Forces. It is planned that a Norfolk and Waveney Building Apprentices’ Competition will take place, led by RG Carter.
How can you get involved? This Festival offers you a unique opportunity to build your brand in the region and with the people that matter to your business. Importantly, it provides you and your business with a chance to demonstrate your support for the young people of Norfolk as they decide which industry to enter. Exhibition spaces (starting at 3m x 3m) are available from £300+VAT, to cover the cost of the event, including power and light and shell scheme if required; indoor and outdoor locations are available.
This Festival is promoted by Norfolk County Council, Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association, Easton and Otley College, City College Norwich, Norfolk Chamber of Commerce, New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership, Norwich School and a number of other partners who care passionately about providing opportunities for the next generation.
If you would like further information about exhibiting at this Festival then please request an exhibitor’s information pack from [email protected], telephone: 01603 731791. Exhibitor spaces are limited so please do apply promptly.
