The event aims to bring people together, reduce loneliness and celebrate the joy of getting out and having fun.

Do you have any ideas of an activity or experience that could appeal to visitors?
These free online workshops by the EXPERIENCE project are aimed at anyone who either already works in tourism in Norfolk or has ideas for an activity or experience that may appeal to visitors.
Workshop 1: Tap in to what visitors really want: An introduction to experiential tourism
Workshop 2: How to develop a visitor experience
Chris Brant, Tourism Business Advisor from Unmissable England, will lead both interactive workshops on behalf of the EXPERIENCE project. In his spare time, Chris is an experience maker – running visitor experiences from his home, including baking scones in a thatched cottage and hosting vineyard tours with wine and gin tasting.
In our first workshop, Tap in to what visitors really want: An introduction to experiential tourism, we’ll give you insights about how creating visitor experiences can help you capture the imagination – and bookings – of tourists. This includes experiences that are part of your day-to- day life that you might not realise could appeal to visitors, as well as adapting an activity you already offer or creating a brand new experience.
Chris will offer expert advice about how experiential tourism can help boost visitor numbers, using inspirational case studies. He’ll also give you his top tips on how to create a perfect experience.
Participants will also have the chance to take part in a Q&A session with two organisations that have come up with creative new visitor experiences to successfully boost business.
In the second workshop, How to develop a visitor experience, we’ll offer hands-on support to participants to learn how to use the inspiration of the rich history, culture and nature of Norfolk to create new visitor experiences.
You will be encouraged to exchange ideas about factors to consider when creating an experience, including target audiences, accessibility and sustainability, and pricing.
Chris will explain how you’ll be able to promote your new experiences via EXPERIENCE, online travel agents and the travel trade.
You’ll also have the chance to ask questions, and to network with fellow participants.
Attending the first workshop is strongly advised but not mandatory for attendance to the second workshop.
These events are open to any organisation, business or individual with or without previous involvement in tourism looking for insights and inspiration about ways to create memorable experiences for visitors outside the typical peak tourism season – which will help you establish, or expand into, a new market.

Discussion Group – How well do we listen in the workplace?
Effective listening offers fundamental benefits to business. At Norwich Samaritans we know how to listen … and listen well.
‘How we listen’ , ‘when we listen’, ‘why we listen’ and ‘what we listen out for’ can become ingrained habits that, when explored in more detail, often reveal gaps which surprise us. These gaps are commonly created through good intent, but leave colleagues, customers and other stakeholders feeling ‘unheard’. Share ideas and take away insights to ‘mind the gap’ around how well we really listen…
Book your place at the table to join the discussion, exploring skills, tips and techniques to support workplace wellbeing. The knock-on benefits for your business … improved relationships, customer service and productivity.
Places are limited to eight per group, with a maximum of two attendees per organisation in any one group.
Location: Haswell Training, Unit D10, Pinetress Business Park, Salhouse Road, Norwich, NR7 9BB

Industry experts offer invaluable entrance opportunities into rapidly growing South East energy and clean growth sectors in free-to-attend virtual sessions
The Clean Growth South East programme is the first of its type, focusing solely on creating a diverse and exciting supply chain across the energy and clean growth sectors to deliver on Government’s ambitious 10-point clean energy plan. Sessions will be delivered providing a taster to each of the key areas of growth: Solar, Onshore Wind, and Offshore Wind and many more diverse topics.
The programme aims to engage businesses across a wide spectrum that will have clear skills that can be diversified to deliver within this industry providing multiple opportunities for local businesses looking to capitalise on a growing industry.
Delivered by expert clean energy consultants Opergy in partnership with Kent County Council and the South East Local Enterprise Partnership, the programme aims to engage with businesses across Essex, Kent, and East Sussex to understand their challenges and opportunities around achieving clean growth alongside key entrance opportunities.
Working with guest speakers including Vattenfall, the Offshore Renewable Catapult and East of England Energy Group (EEEGR).
The next 3 energy events are delivered in affiliation with the East of England Energy Group (EEEGR) and cover the Offshore Wind, Solar Power and Onshore Wind sectors. The events will explore how businesses in the South East can benefit from and contribute to the upcoming opportunities available within the region in the race to Net Zero.
The East and South East are already hotspots for the UK’s clean energy sector, with more than 50% of the nation’s operational offshore wind fleet sitting off their coasts. Alongside this the South East is home to 77 Solar Photovoltaics sites with a further 15 projects awaiting construction, as well as 12 onshore wind farms with a total of 77 turbines across Kent, Essex and East Sussex.
It’s clear there is ample scope for South East businesses to enter the rapidly expanding clean growth sector, with over £62 billion forecast to be invested into the region by 2050, there is a wealth of opportunities in the pipeline for businesses to harness in the future.
The sessions aren’t just for businesses already involved in the sector, as the sessions are designed to help companies adapt their operations to become a part of the supply chain by giving them the information they need and the ability to assess whether they are bid-ready.
The sessions will also outline and explore the incentives and schemes available for companies looking to diversify and supply into the renewable energy market.
Opergy Managing Director Johnathan Reynolds said: “As we head towards carbon neutral, there’s clear opportunities available for businesses to enter the market and be a part of this exciting industry.”
“Any business looking to diversify into these rapidly growing sectors will find these sessions invaluable, with speakers from key players in industry including Vattenfall and the ORE Catapult,” he concluded.
