Waste is an issue for all of us and a major cost for many businesses. Norfolk County Council is keen to encourage new ideas and thinking that may bring about innovative ways of dealing with waste in Norfolk.
We believe the encouragement of a more entrepreneurial approach with new technology will improve waste management and present Norfolk businesses with both major savings and a potential commercial opportunity.
We believe more of Norfolk’s local business community can help us achieve this. The waste market in Norfolk is estimated to be worth around £100 million a year, of which the council’s responsibility for dealing with household waste accounts for £30 million.
Norfolk County Council is organising the Enterprise in Waste Summit at Norwich City Football Clubto enable representatives of Norfolk businesses to discuss a wide range of these waste related issues including:
• How businesses can manage waste more efficiently and reduce overheads • Opportunities for increasing recycling in Norfolk • The potential for hosting recycling facilities in your communities
All Norfolk business – large or small are welcome – as well as entrepreneurs, community interest companies, charities, voluntary organisations, parish and town council.
