Norfolk Constabulary wants to hear from you on crime and police and is inviting you to take part in its Business Crime Survey. The aim of the survey is to better understand the real experiences and concerns of businesses across the county. It will help capture issues that may not always be reported to us and provides insight into crime, antisocial behaviour and prevention. The results will help us shape local policing priorities, problem solving and partnership activity based on business feedback. The survey is running for two months and will close on Tuesday 31 March. Take part in the survey here: https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/NorfolkBusinessCrimeSurvey/ Please do share this survey with your networks and newsletters.
Small Business Superpowers has launched a new local SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) service designed to help businesses across the county connect with customers who are actively searching for their products and services nearby.
Local SEO focuses on improving a business’s visibility in location-based searches, the ‘near me’ queries that have become the go-to method for customers looking for local shops, services, and businesses. With the majority of consumers now turning to Google to find what they need in their immediate area, having a strong local online presence has become essential for businesses of all sizes.
What is local SEO, and why does it matter?
Local SEO ensures that when potential customers search for services in their area, whether that’s ‘plumber in Sheringham’ or ‘coffee shop near me’, your business appears prominently in search results and on Google Maps. Unlike traditional SEO, which focuses on broader search visibility, local SEO specifically targets geographically relevant searches.
An optimised local presence can really help independent businesses to compete effectively with larger chains and national brands. It provides instant credibility through customer reviews, displays essential information like opening hours and contact details at a glance, and can directly drive both online enquiries and physical footfall.
The Small Business Superpowers approach
The new local SEO service includes Google Business Profile setup and optimisation, Google Maps optimisation, ongoing profile management with weekly posts, and expert support to resolve any technical issues such as suspended or disabled listings.
Packages start from £95 + VAT and include everything from initial setup to monthly posting services that keep businesses visible and engaged with their local audience.
Steve Bunyan, Small Business Superpowers founder, said: “Local SEO is one of the most powerful tools available to small businesses, yet it’s often overlooked or misunderstood. When someone searches for what you do in your area, you need to be there, visible, credible, and easy to find.
“We’ve launched this service because we’ve seen too many brilliant local businesses missing out on customers simply because their Google Business Profile isn’t set up properly, or they’re not appearing on Google Maps where people are actually looking.
“The beauty of local SEO is that it doesn’t require a massive budget to make a real impact. With the right setup and regular management, even the smallest businesses can dominate their local search results and attract a steady stream of customers who are ready to buy.”

Many businesses struggle to create short videos consistently or feel unsure what to say. This often results in irregular posting or videos that don’t convey a clear message, which leads to low engagement. Industry updates show that simple, strategic videos perform best. They don’t need complex visuals. Clear messages and consistent topics are what audiences respond to.
Smash’s POV: • Focus on practical tips your audience cares about. • Keep clips clear and to the point. • Use captions to help viewers who watch without sound.
If short video creation feels overwhelming, we can support your content planning and script ideas.
