Certain trade agreements allow goods to enter the market with preferential or zero duty, depending on the “origin” of their goods.
For example, if 50% of the good is domestically made, it will have favoured access to S. Korea. As members of the EU, European content counts as domestically sourced, so Brexit will have significant implications.
This course will detail an explanation on current preference and non-preference rules of origin, their implications for traders and guidance on how to establish origin.
The learner will know:
The importance and compliance for origin.
How to establish non preferential rules of origin.
Preferential rule of origin & origin documentation.
Cumulation of Origin.
Supplier Declarations.
This expert led course is part of the accredited BCC Foundation Award in International Trade. Each session will be followed by a short assessment to complete the training module, completing six modules earns the BCC Award in International Trade.

Meet the Trainer Julie Francis
Founder of Elite Speaking Coach, Julie brings over 20 years’ experience leading in high-performance environments as a Speaker, Performer, and Manager across the cruise industry, live events, and leadership development.
Her work now focuses on helping entrepreneurs, business owners, and leaders develop powerful communication, unshakable confidence, and authentic, human-first leadership.
My journey on this subject is a personal one, life took a profound turn after surviving a traumatic attack that permanently changed her facial appearance and cost me my representation in the entertainment industry. Dropped by my agent because my face no longer “fit” society’s aesthetic expectations, she disappeared from the stage for over three years while undergoing multiple surgeries and rebuilding from the inside out.
Today, Julie returns with a mission: to redefine what confidence really looks like. I will share my exact tools I used to rise again and the insights gained from working alongside top global leaders. The message is clear and powerful one I hope you resonate with.
“Confidence isn’t about how you’re seen. It’s about how you choose to show up.”
This workshop isn’t just theory—it’s lived experience, applied psychology, and transformational learning led by someone who’s had to rebuild her voice, identity, and presence from the ground up.

Come and watch 4 short documentaries about the scientists who work there and their world changing businesses.
Cinema City, 4:15pm Wednesday 3rd Sep
I’m inviting you to a special screening at Cinema City, Norwich, on Wednesday 3rd September at 4.15pm, showcasing four inspiring short science documentaries created by young people from Norfolk and Suffolk, together with a Q&A session with the contributors.
We would be delighted if you could circulate this invitation with your colleagues, to join us to celebrate these young filmmakers’ achievements and the exciting research taking place in our region.
These films are the result of the STEM Film Academy, a unique initiative run by Eye Film in partnership with Cinema City, Norwich Research Park and the Sir John Hurt Film Trust, with support from the Hornsea 3 Community Fund.
Over an intensive week this summer, participants aged 16–24 trained in documentary filmmaking and explored breakthrough research at the Norwich Research Park, interviewing leading scientists and entrepreneurs. We met Rory from Alora, whose goal is to end world hunger by growing a new rice variant in the sea, Deba from Colorifix explaining how they grow colour from insects, plants and animals, Cristina from Tropic who have developed a non-browning banana and Mia, Melissa and Edyta from the Earlham Institute. Three scientists using biotechnological approaches to research plant, animal and human health.
The films tell human stories behind cutting-edge work in climate change, food, health, and biotechnology and highlight the creativity and talent of the next generation of filmmakers.
