Course Title; Level 4 in Award in Managing Food Safety
Aim; To equip delegates to put food safety management systems in to place, through detailed understanding of the hazards, legal requirements (including HACCP) and the issues surrounding the implementation of control measures.
Objectives;
* Understand the meaning of ‘management of food safety’, and the elements of a management system, including HACCP.
* Detailed understanding of the four main hazards; biological, allergens, chemical and physical.
* Understand the format of UK and European food safety legislation.
* Understanding operational procedures for cleaning and disinfection, pest control, design and construction of facilities etc.
* Managing people; information, training, supervision etc.
* Maintaining food safety management procedures; monitoring and verification.
* Liaise with enforcement officers
* Have sufficient technical knowledge to deliver level 1 and 2 food hygiene training (with appropriate training skills)
Organisation
Duration; 5 day teaching programme + 1 day for assessment.
Date; 1st, 2nd, 7th, 8th and 11th October with an exam on Monday 4th November
Location; UEA Catering Department, Norwich
Exam/Assessment; Two hour controlled assignment and a 2.5 hour written examination (both normally completed on the same day). This is an Ofqual accredited qualification.

Differentiation; Prior knowledge of food safety is required: CIEH Level 3 Award in Food Safety would be desirable. Candidates should be familiar with, or aspire to, the role of management. This is a challenging course, technically and academically. Candidates require reasonable spoken and written English, and a moderate level of ICT ability. Access to a computer, for assignment research, email, etc is strongly recommended.
Audience; This qualification is for managers, supervisors and QA/QC/ senior hygiene personnel, who devise, implement and monitor/audit food safety systems, and for those who want to become trainers.

An understanding of the rules and regulations appertaining to Abrasive Wheels. General safety measures. Eye protection. Understand the hazards arising from the use of abrasive wheels. The function and method of assembly of all components. Machine spindle and wheels speeds. Fitting and adjusting guards, eye protection screens and work rests. Truing and dressing of wheels. Safety precautions prior to starting the machine. Codes and marking of the Abrasive Wheel. Participants will carry out practical work with Abrasive Wheels and relevant equipment.

This course can be carried out at your site or at Milne Safety for a maximum of 12 delegates.

Limehouse Lizzy are officially one of the hardest working bands in the UK. They were accredited for their live shows by the Performing Rights Society in December 2011 and received their certificate from PRS Chairman (and respected songwriter) Guy Fletcher OBE. Renowned for an action-packed pyrothechnic-fuelled explosion of a show, Limehouse Lizzy continue to keep the spirit of Celtic rock icon Philip Lynott and his band Thin Lizzy alive, well and dominating stages worldwide. The band have also added a tribute into their show to ex-Thin Lizzy guitarist (and world renowned solo artist) Gary Moore who sadly passed away.
Attention to detail, playful audience interaction and that all important X-factor that leaves you with the feeling of witnessing the real thing have led to their performance being described as “beyond tribute”, by both audience and critics alike. Following the enormous success of their ˜Live & Dangerous” & ˜Dedication” tours, the band embarked upon their “Into the Limelight” 2008 tour to tie in with their appearance on an episode of BBC2’s ‘Arena’ documentary series of the same name. The tour travelled as far as a headline slot at a Rock festival in Greece, and the Virgin Atlantic Music festival in Barbados. The band appeared alongside diverse world music acts, and played a Thin Lizzy set representing the Celtic rock genre. In 2012 the band’s European tour continues to explore and celebrate the artistic and musical legacy of the hard-living, hard-rocking, yet at times surprisingly tender and romantic artist that was Philip Lynott. This year they will be appearing in the UK, Ireland, Germany, France, Holland and Belgium.
Expect more of the Celtic influenced tracks like “Whisky in the Jar” and “Black Rose”, amongst the usual razzamatazz and classic tracks “The Boys are Back in Town”, “Sarah” and many others we’ve come to expect from one of the most highly rated acts on the circuit.
