A recent survey by Larking Gowen showed that 45% of retail and tourism based businesses thought there was a need for more advertising and PR and 20% thought promotion was poor in their local area.
The Business Marketing Conference will cover simple and cost-effective ways to increase awareness and sales of your business and brand.
We’ll look specifically at digital and online marketing as in the survey only 19% of the businesses who responded thought there was a significant benefit to their business, 31% some benefit and 21% little benefit.

Content being the king of websites, social media and a general presence online he has developed the tools to bring any website, blog or app alive.

Norwich School Young Chamber will be running a business networking breakfast on the 27th November. It will involve four guest speakers including Michelle Jarrold, from Jarrolds, and Matt Bartram, from Heritage Developments. The theme of the event is Company Creation. This includes topics such as growing sales, selling to new markets and creating business in the new digital age.
It will be a fantastic opportunity to network with local businesses and to learn how you can develop your own business.
This event is all about coming together to network, connect and explore the amazing ROARR!.
The event will begin with a short walk down Dinosaur Valley (weather dependent) and then breakfast will be served in the Explorers Restaurant. A great opportunity to network at a spectacular venue and witness the changes has ROARR! has been through in recent years.

9.15am – Talks to commence. We have two guest speakers joining us for this event, Adam Goymour, Park Director at ROARR! will begin followed by Zoe Bunter, Head of Fundraising and Communications at Caring Together Charity.
We shall then have the opportunity to try out the new rides at ROARR!. Fingers crossed the weather is on our side. Please wear appropriate clothing and shoes for the event.
About Caring Together
Caring Together Charity supports people who look after someone in their family who has a long term illness, is disabled, or is frail due to age. With services across Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, the charity supports 17,000 unpaid carers and their families every year.
Unpaid carers could be looking after an elderly parent with dementia, a partner with a cancer diagnosis, or a sibling who has a disability. We support carers as young as 5 years old, up to people over 100! Caring for someone can be exhausting, overwhelming and emotionally distressing. We provide practical support to prevent unpaid carers from being in crisis, struggling alone, or feeling isolated.
Please note: when attendees arrive, a member of the Roarr! team will direct you to the meeting point for the Valley tour. All numbers and dietary requirements will be confirmed on Friday 10th of November and some aspects of the events are weather dependent.

The successful transfer of a business is often the key to a comfortable retirement yet each year an estimated 100,000 businesses simply fade away because no one wants to take them on.
While both buyers and sellers tend, perhaps rightly, to place an empahsis on past financial performance this seminar looks at non-financial factors that may give a better indication of future potential. We will argue that addressing cultural issues and creating appropriate internal and external structures are important elements in preparing a business for sale or transfer.
We draw on first-hand research conducted over three years at the UEA to look at practical ways to make more of a success of succession.

Entrepreneurs come from all walks of life and can be found in schools, hospitals and even churches, as well as in workshops and offices. Today we will hear from Dr John Clements, Minister of The Old Meeting House Congregational Church about his determination to keep the spirit of puritanism alive in Norwich in the 21st century. John’s church is one of the country’s oldest free churches, created by people who refused to conform to the demands of the post reformation national church. Instead they formed their own church and built it out of sight behind Colegate in Norwich. The Quaker Meeting House on Upper St Giles is another example.
