Anyone approaching retirement will be forgiven for feeling a little uncertain – the last few years have seen a breathtaking number of changes.
The session will be of interest to people nearing retirement or recently retired.
We will be looking at:
How much capital is needed
Generating secure income in a low inflation/low return environment
Managing portfolios in volatile markets
The effects of changes to pension legislation on tax planning
EIS/SEIS & VCTs and their place in the retirement income mix
Policies introduced following the financial crisis have resulted in fundamental changes to return expectations from a range of assets; persistently low global growth rates have further constrained returns; changes in legislation have delivered greater flexibility for retirees but with that flexibility comes increased risk. And all this at a time when we’re likely to be retired for longer than any generation before us.
We will be looking at the nature of the new risks (and the old ones!) and discussing how these can be managed tax-efficiently in a manner that delivers the returns we need to support us during our retirement.
The Masterclass will last around two hours with questions and discussion.
Wednesday 16th November 2016 – 8.15am or 12.15pm
The Enterprise Centre, University of East Anglia, Norwich Research Park, Norwich NR4 7TJ
Refreshments will be available. There is no charge for the Masterclass but you may like to consider a donation of £20 to Action for Children.
Book now for our 2 day course at UEA London (28th/29th June 2012): Dependence modelling using multivariate copulas with applications.
Aimed at actuarial practitioners, risk professionals, consultants and academics, this course will introduce and develop the theoretical aspects of dependence data modelling with copulas.
Multivariate data abound in many applications including insurance, risk management, finance, biology, health and environmental sciences. Copulas are a currently popular way to model multivariate data as they account for the dependence structure and provide a flexible representation of the multivariate distribution. They allow for flexible dependence modelling, different from assuming simple linear correlation structures and normality, which makes them particularly well suited to many applications in finance, insurance and medicine, among others. Course objectives
This 2-day short course:
Introduces and develops the theoretical aspects of dependence modelling with copulas both for continuous and discrete multivariate data.

Research shows 85% of UK SMEs consider innovation an essential part of Covid-19 recovery – yet less than 15% feel the Government is doing enough to support it.
Fewer than 30% of these same executives feel confident that they are prepared to address the changes they see coming and have no real Innovation plan to capitalise on any new opportunities.
These EY sponsored events are designed to shine a spotlight on some of the exciting SME’s in the Eastern region, especially those contributing towards better working practices, sustainability goals and innovation.
Addressing issues such as:
• What do you see as the next ‘big thing’ that will affect your business? • How do you encourage innovation, and what’s the best way to foster that mindset? • What skills, experience and behaviours will we need from our staff in the next few years? • How do we recruit the right people who will be comfortable with change? • How can we become a greener business? • How do we make ourselves more efficient and therefore more profitable?
Reinvigorate your business with fresh ideas, meet industry pioneers, hear from award-winning guest speakers and discover how to deliver breakthrough results.
