Course Aims Training is based on The Handling of People 6th Edition.
To meet the statutory needs of the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992. To provide sufficient knowledge and training for the delegate to carry out manual handling tasks safely, confidently and avoid injury to both him/herself and others. The course will also include a suitable risk assessment format. We also offer a site visit to your place of work to carry out a risk assessment on the ground should you require it.

Norfolk Chamber are supporting local schools across Norfolk to deliver a careers event to inspire, motivate and educate students on career opportunities.
We are looking for local businesses to take an exhibition stand at this year’s Careers event at Thetford Academyon Thursday 11th May.
This will be an exhibition stand based careers event with 300 students visiting stands, predominently from year 9, as well an hour for the other year groups to visit. The careers event will take place between 12.15 -15:45. Exhibition Stands will be free of charge and refreshments will be provided.
Course Title: Level 2 Award in Healthier Food and Special Diets.
Why study this?
The qualification is for anyone wanting a competitive edge in food manufacturing or catering, those who select menus recipes & ingredients, or with an interest in nutrition & healthy eating. It’s ideal for the care sector, i.e. registered with the Care Quality Commission, to fulfil registration requirements.
Aim:
In essence the course will enable delegates to:
• Have a good basic understanding of nutrition principles & terminology;
• Understand the requirements of a balanced diet and its positive effect on health;
• Understand Food Labelling;
• Have an appreciation of the dietary needs of different groups and cultures. Objectives:
The subjects covered are: • An introduction to food and nutrition;

• Diet and health;
• Nutritional requirements of different groups;
• Catering for different groups;

Organisation: This is an ‘open’ course.
Duration: One day programme (09:00 start-16:45 finish).
Exam/Assessment: Multiple choice exam (so not much writing) with pass mark of 20 out of 30 questions.

Tutor: Sarah Daniels is a Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner, having spent over 25 years in the profession. She is a founder member of the Joy of Food Programme & is passionate about Food. Differentiation: Basic literacy and numeracy, and enthusiasm to learn.
