Skills – seeking opportunities to increase access to skills and people;
Green Innovation – promoting green innovation and decarbonisation;
Growth – removing barriers to start and grow a business; and
Trade – increasing the number of businesses trading internationally.

Chamber Paddle 2023 – Networking on the Norfolk Broad, an ideal opportunity to exercise your mind, body and soul
Following another successful year of paddleboarding in 2022, we are pleased to be bringing it back for 2023!
As we continue to juggle our hybrid working weeks, we can boost our wellbeing by getting time away from our desks, and what better way than by learning a new sport, networking with fellow business professionals, and having fun on the water!
The sessions are open to everyone whether you are an experienced paddleboarder or a novice it’s about having fun!
On the day, they’ll be a short demonstration and health and safety briefing by Katie at Go Paddle. Then it will be time to take to the water.
We will be donating part of the proceeds to the amazing charity Break.
Keeler Recruitment
Keeler Recruitment founder, Mark Keeler came up with the idea of Paddleboard networking after lockdown, and wanted to share his love of the sport and networking with more businesses.
Keeler are specialists in Accountancy and Finance Recruitment across East Anglia. Although newly established, they have decades of experience in recruitment, finance and business.
Alongside their experience and capability, they offer simplicity to their clients with their fixed-fee and staged payments innovations. They also offer onboarding services for board-level appointments, making their service truly unique as well as cost-effective.
Their aim, through developing value-adding and long-term relationships with our clients and supplying access to leading candidates, is to be one of the country’s leading accounting and finance recruiting businesses.
Mark Keeler, CEO of Keeler Recruitment.
“Now approaching the third year of ‘boards on the broads’ I look back to how this started and why I do this!
The first year was born out of necessity of ensuring business professionals were given the chance to network at a time when the country went into lockdown. Having raised £1,000 for EACH Charity, I made the decision to run this event for the second year. With over 100 people taking to the water at the same time as learning a new sport, this enabled people to network with each other in a fun way whilst raising money for worthy a charity. Now entering the third year with the same passion I had in year one, we very much look forward to sharing some fun times with Norfolk professionals on the boards in those summer evenings.”
Break Charity
At Break we give vulnerable children, young people and families the time, support, and care they need to achieve their full potential. Whatever a child’s start in life, we believe that with the right support there is no limit to what they can achieve. www.break-charity.org

This gave her an excellent understanding of the problems business face and the problems individuals struggle with. Business and people have changed greatly over that time.
Julie then went on to do a Diploma in Counselling. Julie is fascinated by people! When good communication and behaviour is a way of life, and used in business, barriers come down, stress is reduced, sickness and absence is reduced. Its a win, win for everyone. When people thrive, businesses thrive! Her mission is to help people and businesses achieve this.
Location: Carrowbreck House, 7 Carrowbreck Road, Norwich, NR6 5FA Over the past 2 years, the accounting profession has seen one of the biggest changes in management information systems since the introduction of spreadsheets. This has arisen as a result of on-going technological advances across the globe and the increased demand for real time data. The use of online accounting software has increased exponentially and the benefits of using online solutions are numerous. Course Content – Configuration and Basic bookkeeping of QuickBooks Online – Raising sales invoices, quotes and statements to customers – Bank reconciliations – VAT returns and record keeping – Management accounts and reporting – Using real-time information to understand your business – Budgeting – Using technology to streamline your business – Growing the business – Exit strategy Some benefits of cloud accounting are; • Accessibility – The ability to access your data anywhere in the world where you have an Internet connection. This allows quicker management reporting at your fingertips. Some providers allow the data to be accessed across a platform of devices including iPads and iPhones. • Automation – Several of the cloud solutions now support bank feeds so that your bank transactions can automatically download directly into your software which can reduce processing time and eliminate errors. Reduced data entry can mean your scan your invoices in or take photos and the app will do the rest for you, instead of keying them in one by one. • Remote working – Without the need to access the data on a specific PC, we’ve seen an uptake in remote working, where bookkeepers can work away from their own office or even at home. With the pace of modern life, it can be essential that accounts are accessible anywhere. • Program updates and review – You will always be using the most up to date version of the software, and you won’t need to buy yearly program updates. Monitoring your business is performed in real-time, allowing you to run as efficiently as possible. Duration: 9:30am – 12:30pm Equipment: Pens and note paper will be available. Lunch provided: On half-day courses, light refreshments will be available throughout the duration of this course. Prices range from £38.50 – £49.50 per person.
