Talking Tech is Norfolk Chambers of Commerce annual flagship technology event. The half day conference will this year take place on Wednesday 18 September, 9am – 2pm at The Space, Norwich. The theme for 2019’s conference is all about myth busting. Our expert guest speakers will take the stage to dispel common myths within their industry in a mixture of keynotes, panel discussions, lightening talks and a workshop to close the event. Our keynote speakers will be covering everything from taking your business paperless to agri-tech. One to watch will be Paul Maskall, Head of Cyber, Risk and Technology for Dardan Security as he delivers a keynote on our relationship with technology. Paul will be breaking down the emotional myths that provide a barrier against us utilising or finding balance with technology. Panel discussions this year will focus on cyber security and data and artificial intelligence. The panels provide the opportunity for the audience to get involved in the event by submitting their questions through Slido. To close the main conference there will also be a special collaborative panel discussion and lightening talks, from the tech groups of Norwich, including (nor(DEV):), Hot Source Norwich and Sync Norwich. Following the main conference there will be a networking lunch at 1pm, giving attendees the opportunity to digest the morning and speak one-on-one with the speakers. At 1:30pm to close the event there will then be a workshop with Mark Williams-Cook, Director at Candour. Mark will be presenting ‘why your website content is rubbish and you don’t rank in Google’. The half an hour workshop will be a practical survival guide to how you should be thinking about your website content. Throughout the event a specialist exhibition of technology themed businesses will also be showcased in the main entrance/networking space, with software developers, email marketing specialists and IT support. We will also be using Thyngs cards at the event again this year. The Thyngs cards give attendees access to all of the event information through QR codes and NFC technology. This year, you can get your own personalised Thyngs card by booking your ticket by Friday 6th September. The event is aimed at all businesses who are looking to improve the ways they use technology, or who want to introduce new and exciting technology to boost their business.
