Join the Norfolk Chambers Board
Our board members help influence and shape the strategic direction of the Norfolk Chambers. They are representative of the Norfolk business community in terms of sector, geography and scale.
Who we are
For 130 years we have been the voice of business in Norfolk with our mission to connect, support and give voice. We do this through our events and support programmes, a city-centre co-working space, active promotion of members and a huge suite of exclusive partnerships offering support services, growth opportunities and cost reduction.
To do all this, we rely on the support of a dedicated group of Chambers members that make up our Board. People who share our passion for Norfolk businesses and are keen to ensure that all Chambers activities and actions support our mission.
Norfolk Chambers has been on a journey of transformation in recent years to create a modern profit-for-purpose organisation that is culturally and digitally relevant, fit for another 130 years. We have an ambitious 2030 growth plan that will deliver even better services to a membership that consistently grows, enabling us to continually reinvest in the Norfolk business community.
Our Board members help influence and shape that strategic direction. They are representative of our business community in terms of sector, geography and scale. They are of Norfolk, and for Norfolk.
Membership of our Board typically lasts four years and, with some Directors coming to the end of their term, we need new insight to help us deliver on our ambition.
We are particularly (though not exclusively) interested in candidates with the following attributes:
- Representative of one the ‘IS-8’ sectors featured in the industrial strategy:
- Advanced Manufacturing
- Defence
- Clean Energy
- Professional Services
- Life sciences
- Creative
- Digital
- Finance
- Larger corporate organisations.
- Under-represented areas and communities
In addition to being a champion for your own sector, as a full member of the Board, our Senior Management Team will look to you for insight into the strategic direction of the organisation.
