Economic recovery in the UK remains weak and uneven. Whilst domestic demand increased moderately in 2012, this was largely offset by a pronounced fall in exports. Employment continued to grow strongly, however the weakness of productivity suggests the financial crisis may still be impacting on the supply capacity of the economy.
