Someone else copies orders from one system into another by hand. The clever spreadsheet that holds it all together was built by a person who left two years ago, and nobody dares touch it.
Sensible Systems exists to fix that. We do three things.
Automate the business
We replace the spreadsheets, inboxes and half-used subscriptions with one secure internal system, built around how your team actually works rather than a software company’s idea of it. Quotes, jobs, clients, stock, staff, reporting, whatever your business runs on, in one place, on the web and on phones.
Your history comes with you. Years of spreadsheets, exports from the old system, paper records: we clean it, migrate it and check it against the originals before anything goes live. Then we automate the busywork. The chasing, the re-typing, the reminders, the copying between systems. If a computer can do it reliably, it should, so your people can spend their time on the parts that need a person.
Where a connection to your accounting software, CRM, calendar or payment provider already exists, we use it. We won’t rebuild something you’re already happy with.
Build websites, apps and products
Some things deserve a professional build. A customer-facing app, a SaaS product, a system your whole business depends on. Experience matters there, in the hundred small decisions that separate software that lasts from software that limps along. You bring the brief, we design and build it, test it against your real data, and hand it over properly, with documentation, training and support as standard.
Train your team to build their own
The day-to-day automations and internal tools are a different story. The person drowning in the spreadsheet understands that problem better than any outside developer ever will, and with today’s AI tools, the loosely technical people on your team can learn to build and maintain these themselves. So we teach them. Hands-on workshops, working on your real processes, that turn the people who already build clever spreadsheets into the people who automate the busywork.
How we work
Every business is a different mess, so we scope and quote individually. It starts with an email: tell us what your business does, where the time goes and what’s held together with string. We sit with the people doing the work and map how it really happens, then you get a plain-English proposal and a fixed quote before anything is built. The price doesn’t move unless the brief does.
We build in the open, with your team seeing it come together. Where it helps, the new system runs alongside the old one until you’re confident. Then handover: sessions for the whole team, written documentation, recorded walkthroughs and 30 days of support.
No black boxes
We’re tired of agencies building software nobody uses. Every account is in your name, the documentation is written for someone who isn’t us, and nothing we deliver needs us to keep it running. We don’t hold a copy of your data. If you never speak to us again, everything carries on working.
None of this replaces people. A good system takes the busywork off a team that already has too much of it, so they can get on with the high-value, human parts of the job.
