2024 saw remarkable returns from US equities, returns that underpinned performance across portfolios and hid lacklustre returns from shares elsewhere. Will 2025 be the year the pull of mean reversion proves irresistible for markets or will Trump’s second term lead the S&P 500 to still higher levels?

We’ll start this session with a review of 2024 and an analysis of where those stella returns were generated before going on to consider the prospects for markets in 2025.
