I am delighted to invite you to an event focussing on business sustainability and resource efficiency. These are key issues for businesses especially with rising energy and waste-to-landfill costs impacting on profits.
Date: Thursday 24 October in the Captain Paul Watson, Green Britain Centre, Swaffham. Arrival time: 08.00 for refreshments. Event times 08.30 to 10.30 with optional networking and refreshments.
We will host a panel of guests that have seen the benefits of incorporating sustainability into their businesses and you can then take part in the Q&A session to find out more about the issues and opportunities involved.
· The Eden Project, based in Cornwall, is committed to reducing their impact on the environment, using resources efficiently and being self-sufficient in soil, water and energy where possible. Through their Green Foundation they are helping other organisations with their sustainability goals.
· Paul Turner, Director of Community & Sustainable Business, Lloyds Banking Group will discuss the potential impacts and opportunities for SMEs.
· Archant, winners of The Green Apple Awards 2012 for Environmental Best Practice, is a family-owned publishing company, based in Norwich. They will share some of their experiences of incorporating sustainability into their business.
You can also choose two of the three interactive sessions below to get some really practical ideas:
· NISP – an innovative business programme that can deliver cost and environmental benefits to businesses by helping them to reduce the amount of waste they send to landfill.
· The Eden Projects Green Foundation – behavioural change is essential to driving change within a business. Discover ways to engage your staff and stakeholders to get them on board.
· Lloyds TSB, Commercial can help you to make tangible links between being sustainable and business performance and profitability.
Our final guest will be Dr Andy Wood OBE, Chief Executive from Adnams Brewery, who will discuss the company’s approach to sustainability, the challenges and successes.
