A seminar for people in business and sport interested in maximising their performance, coaches, trainers and managers, and anyone interested.
It will be led byMyles Downey, an acknowledged authority on performance, coaching and leadership, a renowned executive coach and an author. Myles has coached business leaders in Europe, the North and South America, the UAE and Asia Pacific. He founded and taught at the highly regarded ‘The School of Coaching’ and worked with the New Zealand Premier Rugby Coaches and the senior coaches to the England Rugby Union Squad.
In the seminar Myles will share the insights from a 35 year career, and show how to access your potential to deliver extraordinary, meaningful results. We’ll be on a tennis court to make the lessons real and visible (no experience of tennis, or interest, is required).
We will explore:

💥 How your Unique Individual Genius in your discipline is key to success
💥 How you can develop your Will for motivation and resilience
💥 How you can build a Mindset for Success
💥 The key to effective coaching: helping the player learn for themselves
The seminar draws on two of his books: The best-selling ‘Effective Modern Coaching’, which is on the curriculum for many business and sports coach training programmes and ‘Enabling Genius’ which describes a research based pathway to excellence. Tim Gallwey’s ‘Inner Game of Tennis was an inspiration for both books and Myles’s approach.

We are pleased to announce that we will be holding our Summer event in Norwich on 13th June 2024, 4-7pm at the UEA.
Members and non-members of Cyber East are invited to attend this event as we collaborate and share ideas to help ensure businesses in the area have the opportunity to thrive and grow in a secure and safe way.
We will have a guest speakers, an interactive Q&A panel and there will be plenty of opportunity to network with refreshments available.
This event has an attendee fee of £10.00, if you are a student with a valid student ID card please email [email protected] to be registered for a free ticket.
About the £10.00 attendee fee.
As a group of volunteers our East cluster is growing rapidly to share cyber security knowledge, educate and bring you our local community together with employers, students and government bodies. We are also very fortunate to have excellent speakers, who all give their time for free to support this community.
As we continue to increase the number of annual events, support various community initiatives and continue with the positive work we do, we have taken the decision to charge a small fee to attend our events
Charging a fee is not a decision we have taken lightly. We are fortunate as a cluster that we are often supported with free or reduced cost venue hire along with sponsorship to cover venue and refreshment costs for the benefit of our members, so we could continue without charging a fee for attendance. However, our event attendance is growing, we are sometimes over-subscribed, but as with all events there are always a number of registered attendees who are unable to attend for various reasons. Whilst we understand that this can be unavoidable, in fairness to our venues, speakers, sponsors and members, we feel it is important that we do what we can to maximise attendance at events, and opportunities for everyone to attend events when they can.
We believe that by charging a small fee, the proceeds of which will be split between a donation to a registered charity and a prize that will be raffled during the event, we can maximise attendance as much as possible and at the same time support local good causes. We will also continue to keep attendance free for students in line with our skills initiatives.
We hope that our members will understand and support this decision, and we look forward to seeing you at a future event.
We are excited to host you at the Future Horizons Launch
Event on Friday, 21st November at King Street Cinema in Ipswich.
Future Horizons is an exciting new partnership
linking Suffolk employers with HMP Norwich,
supporting individuals returning to the community and helping businesses
discover motivated new talent. Around 50 people are released into
Suffolk each month; your organisation can play a key role in offering
opportunity, reducing reoffending, and creating lasting social impact.
This is a great opportunity to learn more about the
initiative, connect with employers working with ex-offenders and speak directly
with prison staff.
After a brief presentation, representatives from Norse, TRO,
and HMP Norwich will be on hand to answer your questions during our relaxed
networking time over coffee and cake.
