As many practical tips to help improve your website’s ranking as we can give you in 2 hours!
Want to get your website on the first page of Google? Of course you do! But it’s not as simple as that.
The aim of SEO, or search engine optimisation, is to improve the visibility of your website in Google and other search engines so that potential customers are more likely to find you. If you rank highly on a search engine results page, it’s more likely that you will generate traffic to your website which, in turn, should generate more enquiries and orders.
But what is SEO? And, more importantly, what can you actually DO to optimise your site for search?
This free session is designed to give you a brief introduction to SEO and talk you through some of the key factors that affect your search engine ranking. You’ll go away with a checklist of practical things you can do on your own website to help give it a boost, along with tips on how to write new blogs and content.
Who is this session for?
Anyone who’s interested in making their website more visible in search – so it’s perfect for small business owners, and those responsible for their company’s website. It’s suitable for people who have no knowledge of SEO, or those who have some idea, but aren’t quite sure what to do to improve their site.
There’s no way we can make you an SEO master in 2 hours, but you will go away with a much better understanding of the factors that can affect your search engine ranking and some steps you can take to start steering your website in the right direction.
What will we cover?
A brief introduction to SEO – what is it and why is it important?
The anatomy of a search engine results page
Some easy checks on the set up of your site to make sure it’s search engine friendly
How to do keyword research
What are meta titles, meta descriptions and alt tags and why should you care?
Tips on writing for web
The role of outreach, backlinks and social media in SEO.
This is the second in the series of Future4Business events designed to Future ProofYourBusiness
The initial event last November was well attended and received positive feedback.
Please come along if you are new to running a business, looking to expand, or wish to obtain useful advice – and let your colleagues know about this when networking.
Many businesses have a period of initital success – but then statisitics show that many wane & cease before year 5 – and we are trying to collectively help businesses succeed and prosper.
Building on the success of the Meet the Buyer event in April 2018 in Norwich, where supply chain professionals met with operators including ONE, Shell, Centrica, Neptune. We are pleased to announce another SNS Meet the Buyer event. The event will take place on 5 March 2019, Norwich City Football Club, Norwich following a similar format to the 2018 event.
Presentations will be provided by a range of operators, followed by the opportunity to have a 10-minute one-to-one sessions with the operators. (please note: this is on a pre-booked basis and initially restricted to EEEGR members, unfilled places may then be filled by non-members if any are still available).
Business Shaper Group and New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) have announced the launch of 50 major new Business Roadshows, across Norfolk and Suffolk, from April – November, to benefit hundreds of companies, accessing grants and funding to help them grow.
The Roadshow takes place in Lowestoft at the 60+ Club on the 23rd April, and will help to highlight the wealth of grants, funding opportunities, free business support and training available to business owners as they prepare their organisations for the future.
“For a young business like AT Power, finding the right advice, support and funding to grow is difficult. Attending the Business Roadshow in December last year, we were able to understand all the different types of funding options, grants and support available to small businesses. We accessed a £3000 grant from the Manufacturing Advisory Service, which has helped us increase turnover by over by £75,000 in two months. We also have pipeline of business in excess of £600,000, all with the help and guidance of Business Shaper Group. I would strongly advise any business looking to grow in 2014, to attend the Business Roadshow”, said Andy Clifton managing director of AT Power.
Come along and join us at this fascinating morning where Kate will present the science behind some of the issues that we women encounter during this phase of our lives.

These mornings have been hugely popular – informative, fun and empowering – engage with like-minded women and believe in taking control!

Building on the success of the first event of its kind in 2012 the 2020Plus Civic and Business Leadership Event is returning to Norwich on Thursday 21st February 2013.
This unique event is part of an international project which is helping leaders, in local and regional government, business, education, public services, media and the third sector to:
Identify major challenges facing our city in the decade ahead
Proactively engage likely social change before it occurs
Establish a culture of innovation within hubs of creativity
Network with like-minded, community-focussed and resourceful leaders
Engage in ongoing dialogue for positive change In hosting this event, we recognise that Norwich is a strategic UK centre with a proud past and an excellent future. The February event at The Space comes on the back of a very successful event in March of last year which brought together key senior people from industry, R&D, education, media and the arts.
Keynote speaker at the event, is Mal Fletcher, a highly respected Social Commentator and Global Leadership Speaker.
He is in constant demand for his expert social comment with media groups like the BBC and conducts leadership sessions worldwide. Mal’s special area of expertise is in tracking social shifts and how they will impact on the future shape of businesses and communities. He wraps extensive research in a high-impact, informative speaking style that really engages an audience.
At the 2020Plus event, you’ll be able to connect with many of Norwich’s most successful civic and business leaders and thinkers. This is a rare opportunity to meet a diverse group of people from different areas of industry and civic leadership in one place.
Several people that attended the last event have asked if they can bring members of their staff or team to this event so we are opening up this invitation to include them.
