This is the third and final part in our Autumn Masterclass series. Previously, we looked at the value of having a financial plan. In this session we home in on the point where we move from saving to spending. Environments change – people transition. The shift to a new phase of life can be a difficult transition; so much of who we are is defined by what we do. This is especially relevant at retirement. Our session will start by looking at ways to successfully navigate change by developing a transition mindset. We will go on to discuss the new risks associated with moving from saving for the future to drawing an income from your pot. Will there be enough? Will it run out? Can you afford to help your children? How you manage your income is arguably as important as how you manage your investments. We will look at different ways of managing your money and the compromises each entails. By the end of the session, you will have a clearer understanding of how much you need, feel more relaxed about your finances and start to enjoy your Next Act. You’ve saved for a good retirement – let’s look at how to make it a great one! Agenda: Financial Planning – a recap of the previous session Your Next Act – preparing for change and developing a transition mindset. Comfort Break Decumulation Risks – understanding the different risks that apply once you start taking an income from your investments and how to mitigate them. Income Strategies – exploring different strategies and looking at the pros and cons of each. Questions and Close This is an in-person session, so places are limited. We are keen to keep our Masterclasses free of charge. To help achieve this please could you try to honour your commitment to attend or let us know as soon as possible if you are unable to make it so your place can be allocated to someone else. This year, we are proud to support The Priscilla Bacon Hospice Charity. If you find the masterclass useful, we encourage you to donate to support their work.
