In partnership with Norfolk and Suffolk Care Support, City College is holding an I Care Ambassadors Question Time.
This is a great opportunity to listen to the interesting insights of the ambassadors, as well as to ask them your questions. The ambassadors are there to support you with knowledge about the health and social care industry, their pathways into the industry and their job responsibilities.

Sarah Okatan is the Project and Administration Executive at Norfolk and Suffolk Care Support, and works closely with the I Care Ambassadors. Sarah left school having to retake her maths exams six times, and then took her A Levels for a second time, ending up with some fantastic grades. She definitely persevered. Sarah completed her sociology degree and began working in an array of roles including communications, accounts and customer service, before entering this role and the health care sector one year ago.
Eppie Dawson is the Training Manager at Twin Oaks Care Home. Eppie started her working career with roles such as cleaning, kitchen work and administration. She even received a qualification and was a florist up until last year. Eppie now works at the Care Home managing and organising all training whilst she begins her apprenticeship degree (Nursing Associate Course) at UEA this year. Eppie evidences that you can change your mind with careers throughout your life and end up in a very rewarding role, with incoming qualifications.
Monique Buckley is a Client Experience Lead at Home Instead Senior Care. Monique had only recently been working in the healthcare industry, whilst for many years she worked for Marks and Spencers in London progressing to working on the magazines. Following a relocation to Norwich, Monique took a career break to spend time with her family. Monique fell into the adult care sector by chance, whilst having no experience in this area, after supporting and assisting her elderly neighbour. Monique began working at Home Instead Senior Care as a CareGIVER, whilst working part-time to assist her family, and now works in the office full-time. With this new role, Monique is soon to begin completing her NVQ Level 3.
Georgia Bibbey is a Bank Carer at Doughtys’ Charitable Housing. Georgia was adamant that she wanted to work within the health and social care industry since Year 9 , but did not wish to work with the elderly. Georgia had many roles in retail and bar work before being recruited by Home Group and offered an NVQ apprenticeship. Georgia has much experience with supporting women in prison and shelter work to support homelessness, with a distinct role in mental health. Before starting her own family, Georgia had completed her NVQ again and enjoyed caring within the community. She has just been offered her NVQ Level 3 at Doughtys’ Charitable Housing and feels really valued in her new care role.
