Over 100 years of valuable service
From saving historic Elm Hill in the 1920s, to more recent advocacy for the best possible outcomes for Anglia Square’s development, as well as sustainable transport systems, town planning policy and the highest quality in modern architecture, the Norwich Society has been focused on preserving and improving the city’s built environment and public spaces for over 100 years.
But our work isn’t done – our committees continue to push for consideration of significant issues facing our future, and we have specific committees focusing on aspects of infrastructure, planning applications, the civic environment and protection of the character of the city’s historic environment. Working in collaboration with the City Council and other bodies, and with the support of our membership, we help to effect positive change and keep Norwich an appealing place to live and work.
