Norwich Theatre is among the UK’s leading performing arts organisations and the largest arts organisation in the East of England. Made up of three venues – Theatre Royal, Playhouse and Stage Two all situated in the heart of the historic city of Norwich – Norwich Theatre welcomes around 450,000 visitors across its venues every year.
As a registered charity, Norwich Theatre is committed to make the arts accessible to the broadest range of people through a wide-ranging and diverse artistic programme and an extensive programme of Learning & Participation work. With this aspiration in mind, our award-winning Take Part programme has three strands of activity: Learning & Education, Training & Skills and Community Participation.
Every year more than 5,000 people of all ages take part in workshops, courses and projects which aim to support curriculum delivery within schools and colleges, develop talent and skills development within the performing arts or break down barriers to attendance at our venues or engagement with the performing arts. Our Theatre Courses have been running for more than 25 years and now boast an impressive alumni working professionally within the sector and our flagship Community Participation programme, Creative Matters, has received significant recognition for its achievements in diversifying our audiences and engaging harder-to-reach groups.
