Huw is an experienced marketing professional, business writer and social media consultant. He believes clear corporate communications are essential to business growth. His writing helps companies create engaging conversations with employees, customers, suppliers and investors.

He has worked with clients across many sectors over the last 25 years. He specialises in transforming their complex ideas into compelling copy. His corporate narratives empower people, build brands and inspire change.

Huw works in partnership with his wife, Wendy. They have lived in Norfolk (where Huw was born) since leaving London in 2006. Since then, he has built a reputation on social media for championing businesses in the East.

Richard is the Business Relationship Manager for ip21 Ltd, a firm of Intellectual Property (IP) Lawyers and Consultants headquartered in Norwich. Richard is responsible for managing the firm’s international client relationships, and works within the IP Strategy team to advise clients on how best to protect and enforce their technical, branding and design innovation.

Richard holds an MBA (Distinction), a Level 7 Diploma in Professional Consulting and is a Chartered Manager and Member of the Chartered Management Institute. He also acts as a UEA Business Mentor, and regularly contributes to several business publications on a range of IP topics.

Outside of work Richard plays for a local badminton team in the Norfolk league, and regularly enjoys all racquet sports, football and the odd charity run!

Sean Clark

As a digital specialist since 1999, Sean has a proven track record in leveraging online marketing for multi-million pound companies.

Firstly as Director of E-Commerce for Bennetts Retail Ltd and then as Head of Web Operations for Adnams Plc, Sean delivered consistent online growth using Social Media, Search Engine Optimisation and Pay Per Click advertising.

Sean now runs his own digital marketing agency, Clark St. James, which employees 7 full time staff, and provides a range of industry leading services for a diverse and growing list of clients.

Sean is extremely active in the Norfolk business world, on the board of Visit East Anglia, helping to run Sync Norwich, and editor of The Norfolk Tech Journal.

Outside of work Sean is husband to Tracey and father of 3 daughters Danielle, Georgia and Ruby. An avid chess player, and keen swimmer.

James Clabburn

James Clabburn founded NorfolkBroads.com as a regional tourism guide in 1996 after returning from working in the pacific northwest of the USA as the Vice President for quality control of a Portland – Oregon based shipyard having retired as a ships captain. 

Since then the guides have expanded in number to cover the whole of Norfolk and beyond, promoting the region to over half a million visitors a year. James grew up in Norfolk and has a deep interest in promoting tourism within the county as represented by the guides. 

The internet development section of Norfolkbroads.com (InnerShed Ltd) was split off in 2010 into a separate company specialising in e:commerce, database and advanced business development software with many Norfolk based blue chip clients. 

James is married with two grown children and a retired Norwich based magistrate whose hobbies include sailing and golf.

Paul McCarthy – Chair

Currently leading the team at Chantry Place (formally Intu Chapelfield), East Anglia’s premier retail destination set in the heart of the fine city of Norwich, itself a top 10 UK retail destination.  This is my third appointment within the shopping centre sector having previously managed Castle Mall in Norwich and Freeport Braintree Outlet Shopping Village in Essex.

In addition to the day job I also look to support the wider needs of local businesses as a Director of the Norwich Business Improvement District and in my role as Vice Chair of the Norwich Council of the Norfolk Chamber of Commerce. 

Before relocating to Norfolk in 2010 I enjoyed 19 great years at Heathrow Airport working across commercial, operational and capital investment disciplines.

Guy Gowing

Guy is Managing Partner or Arnolds, a multi-disciplinary firm of Chartered Surveyors, Estate Agents and property advisers. Based in Norwich for over 20 years he has an excellent knowledge of the Norwich, Norfolk and North Suffolk commercial property markets. In addition for commercial property, Guy is responsible for the overall strategy and service delivery of Arnolds, overseeing the direction of the firm, ensuring the quality of the service, and leading the team of Partners.

He deals with key clients in portfolio management, giving development advice and strategic property counsel, as well as actively negotiating lettings, disposals and acquisitions.

Guy lives in Norfolk with his partner and two teenage step-children. He is a keen hobby farmer, with a small suckler herd of purebred Hereford beef cattle. Skiing is a big passion, and more recently he has discovered the joys of Alpine walking outside the skiing season. His two Labradors keep him in training for this the rest of the year.

Jeanette Wheeler

Jeanette is an experienced employment lawyer and Partner at law firm Birketts LLP having previously been a Partner at Eversheds. She has wide ranging experience acting mainly for employers and senior executives including advising on large scale redundancy restructuring exercises; acquisitions and disposals; compromise agreements and Tribunal claims. She acts and has acted for a number of household brands, both regionally and nationally, providing both operational and strategic HR advice. Jeanette has travelled and worked extensively for international clients particularly those with US connections and has particular expertise in the food sector, NHS, construction and energy sectors.

Jeanette is also an experienced and highly regarded HR trainer and media commentator on employment law subjects and has written numerous legal articles.

From 2006 to 2010 Jeanette Chaired the Norwich Business Women’s Network and has been a Chamber Council member since 2010.
