Three Wins for Maids Head Hotel at the Suffolk & Norfolk Tourism Awards
The Maids Head Hotel has brought home an impressive three awards at this year’s Suffolk and Norfolk Tourism Awards. This marks a significant achievement for both the hotel and the city of Norwich.
Winner of the Hotel of the Year at the Suffolk and Norfolk Tourism Awards
The hotel was named Hotel of the Year, alongside winning Taste of England and the Unsung Hero Award — a clean sweep that reflects our commitment to deliver exceptional hospitality.
The Suffolk and Norfolk Tourism awards celebrate excellence across the region’s visitor economy. Each year this culminates in an award ceremony, this year held at Diss Corn Hall.
The Unsung Hero Award was presented to Head Housekeeper, Mandy Ames, who has dedicated more than 35 years of service to the hotel. Widely respected by colleagues and guests alike, Mandy plays a vital role in maintaining the high standards of the hotel’s 84 bedrooms.
Suffolk and Norfolk Tourism Awards Winner
With over 800 years of history, The Maids Head continues to evolve, combining heritage with modern expectations. This includes a strong focus on sustainability, following its Silver EcoSmart award in 2025.
These three awards truly reflect the passion and dedication our team brings to delivering exceptional hospitality every day. They reinforce our commitment not only to our guests, but also to supporting the continued success of our fine City of Norwich. We are proud to play our part in showcasing all that this remarkable destination has to offer.
VisitEngland Awards for Excellence System
As a winner of the Suffolk and Norfolk Tourism Awards, we will automatically go forward to the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence System. This judging process is now underway and once completed we will find out if we have been shortlisted for these National Awards. These national awards are due to take place in the first week of June.
