Karl Hayward takes on Three Peaks challenge to support local community
On Thursday 2nd July, Karl Hayward, an Account Executive in Norwich, will take on the National Three Peaks Challenge, climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in around 32 hours. It’s one of the UK’s toughest endurance challenges, combining long climbs, travel and very little rest.
After a strong start to the year with his running, Karl wanted to push himself further.
Backing a charity that makes a difference
Karl is fundraising for the Norwich Community Sports Foundation, a charity that uses sport to support people across Norfolk.
Its work focuses on inclusion, mental health and creating opportunities, particularly for disadvantaged people and those with disabilities. Programmes like disability football, dance sessions and the Realising Potential scheme give people confidence, support and a sense of belonging.
Karl has seen that impact first-hand. He’s taken part in events, supported initiatives like Boots4Change and represented Everywhen in the Corporate Cup.
Making every pound go further
Karl’s efforts this year have already been boosted by the Ardonagh Charitable Trust (ACT). Through its match funding scheme, ACT supports colleagues’ fundraising by matching what they raise – helping turn good efforts into even bigger results. Since launching in 2017, ACT has helped raise millions for charities, adding significant extra funding on top of colleague donations.
It’s a simple idea that makes a real difference: raise money for a cause you care about, and ACT helps to grow it.
A tough challenge with a clear purpose
The Three Peaks Challenge will test Karl’s endurance in a completely different way to running. Three mountains. Hundreds of miles between them. Tight time limits.
Every donation will help the Foundation continue its work across Norfolk – opening opportunities, building confidence and supporting people who need it most.
How to support
We wish Karl all the best. If you’d like to support him, you can donate via his fundraising page. Every contribution will make a difference.
